We happened upon the gardens when we had a bit of time to kill and tok a picnic lunch from a local vendor. Quiet, clean, welcoming spot with lots of space and beautiful acknowledgement of sister city in Japan

Whether walking from nearby hotel or driving in, this is a pleasant walk with interesting monuments along a pretty path amid large trees and plants. Saw many joggers, walkers, and mothers with small children.

The Lilioukalani Gardens were located quite close to our hotel, so we decided to take a stroll the morning after we arrived. The Gardens are beautiful, and extensive, with lots of walkways, and ponds. It isn't a flower garden, but more like the gardens you...More

This is a nice park with beautiful trees. Great for a walk, a picnic lunch or a nap under a tree. Cross the street and take the pedestrian bridge to Coconut Island where locals swim, launch kayaks and paddle boards and take their kids to...More

Such a serene, peaceful stop. Great for reading or just relaxing. Many available photo ops. Stop by Island Candy along the way to try their samples as well as Kona coffee.

We made a quick stop here while in Hilo. It’s a small park, but it had nice views of the bay. The grounds are well kept, cute streams and bridges. We also saw a turtle grazing on algae.

Beautiful Gardens and quite unexpected. We had a very relaxing stroll through and admired the wonderful plantings and bridges around the well maintained garden. Well worth a look.

We didn't get to walk these gardens the last time so we made a priority to do so this visit. Very nice walk through the park. We walked through and across to the water. Saw a sea turtle swimming. Quick little walk, but very nice...More

Not a good idea as it does not have adequate lighting in the evening and you could turn an ankle as the surface is uneven.
