It's a long way out there. But totally worth it. It's other worldly beautiful. Very tough parking and sort of primitive viewing area.

We loved the views from the lookout. We also decided to drive to the bottom after talking to the ranger. A 4 wheel drive vehicle and good breaks are required. We drove back towards the waterfall but never went to the beach since the road...More

Such a beautiful place! It was an insane walk down and luckily we got a ride up - but it was worth every second. So pretty, so peaceful.

There isn't much hiking here. Basically a photo spot. But the town of Honokaa is lovely and just south of this lookout. Do stop in there before or after and eat at Gramma's.

Definitely a beautiful view down into Waipiʻo Valley. It's also a good place to stop briefly for a rest.

One of the best spots for a view that will not let you down. Impressive to say the least at every turn.

It's worth going down the valley and spend some time there. In the way back, we got a ride from a local. Only 4x4 is allowed to go down the road. Hike is around 40min down the valley, and hours to go back up.

Aloha, I am sorry I can't answer your question. However, I did find this local provider (Horseback above Waipio:Waipio Ridge Stables) who may be able to respond to you. Mahalo

From there to Marriott was about 90 minutes or so but depends on traffic. It is just two lane roads and the speeds are no more than 40-45 on average. There were picnic tables on the top and was covered. We did not trek down... More
