There are lots of pros and cons, but unfortunately, there are more cons especially considering the steep cost of $135 per person for the VIP tour. The Pros The family business ambiance is great. I loved being greeted by the cats, old dog, chickens, etc. The picnic tables and the large TV playing highlights of the farm were great. The... More

The Mountain Thunder coffee plantation was easy to find and offered tours for free as well as more in-depth tours for a fee. There are free samples for visitors in addition to the company of friendly chickens, cats and a dog. The Mountain Thunder plantation offers an affordable and enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

This was my first coffee plantation visit and I learned a lot. Our tour guide was great. Beautiful drive to the plantation, and it's close to Kailua-Kona.

Wonderful Coffee and Tea. Yes that's right they have Tea. They have regular tea and tea made from coffee bean skin. The free tour is just the Mill Area.

Mountain Thunder is about 3200 ft up the mountain in Kona region of Hawaii's big island. This coffee farm was unique to the others we visited as it was in a rain forest area, very much cooler & misty. We took the VIP3 tour which included a very nice lunch & complete tour of the farm & coffee processing areas.... More

The tour is really informative, but you don't actually go into the plantation area. You do get to see the preparation area of for the beans, all the factory and you can sample all of the blends. They are delicious.

I wanted to go to a Kona Coffee plantation while on the big island. Turns out this is the only organic one in the area. The tour was very educational. You do get the full experience. I purchased a pound of the 6th best ranked coffee in the world. The drive up was pleasant and the temperature was a great... More

I paid for the VIP of the organic coffee farm, high up on the west Kona hillside. The elevation is 3500 feet (approx.) so the view is spectacular! I was fortunate to be there on a day when the usual cloud cover was light. Saro was my tour guide...his incredible knowledge of the whole coffee growing process was amazing. I... More

This is a great place to visit. We enjoyed the mini version of the tour. There was so much great information and the young man giving the tour was awesome!
