Located on 24 beautiful acres in Mountain View, midway between Hilo and Volcanoes National Park, stands our farm, roasting building and retail sales facility. Come take a full tour of the farm (aprox. 1.5 Hours) or a mini tour (aprox. 20 Minutes) in our roasting room. Either way, it's fun for the whole family and you'll learn a lot about coffee, farming and even a little history. Kids won't even know they're learning because it's so much fun. Before or after your tour, be sure and enjoy a fresh light meal, using locally grown fruits and vegetables. We have one of the best Portuguese Bean soups around. Our hours are: Tuesday: 8:00am - 4:30pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday 8:00am - 2:00pm Sunday, Monday, Wednesday CLOSED If cruise ships are in port we will also be open on those days, until 4:30pm!. If you're here on a Saturday, be sure and visit our small farmers' market with big aloha, where you'll find some real treasures, great produce, a wonderful breakfast and some great local music. It truly is Mountain View's Favorite Gathering Place. Every Saturday from 9:00am until 2:00pm. We'd love to meet you!

We stopped here based on other reviews hoping to try some local coffees. It was around 1 p.m. on A Friday and when we entered the shop the woman behind the counter didn't greet us. We looked around for a bit- clearly we were tourists. We finally asked if there were coffees we could taste. She said yes and coldly... More

We stopped by this place on a recommendation and had a fabulous experience. This is a small, local business and truly a treasure. We met one of the owners and got a detailed explanation of their coffee beans from seed to plant to bag. Then we tasted three delicious fresh brews and found a great variety of the best Hawaiian... Maybe I missed it on their website, but we were super bummed we couldn't tour the mill because we didn't have a reservation. The barista wasn't very nice about sharing this info when we asked about roaming the grounds (heh). Still got to see a few coffee trees. Would have been more fun had we known about reservations :( The... More

The Hilo Coffee Mill was the perfect place to see the coffee trees and learn about coffee through a video and a self guided tour. There were about 20 coffees to taste, and a snack bar and with wonderful ice cream including blue sweet potato ice cream. Clean restrooms, a gift shop that wasn't cheap junk, and a giant coffee... Not just coffee here, they actually have a farm that grows things. They have free-range chickens running around for your pleasure. Jeanette gives a great presentation on the coffee growing and processing process, along with telling everyone about how the farm is green sustainable through solar power and composting, along with rainwater collection. You get plenty of free samples as... More

Perfect place for a stop on the way to the vulcano. Make sure to taste the great coffee and one of the sweet cakes. Consider this a great little café, where they will serve you the coffee exactly the way you like it.

Friendly folks let us sample 3 coffees and several sweets. Ended up taking home the Chocolate and the Pineapple coffees and chocolate covered macadamia nuts. I'm glad we stopped!

We stopped into the Hilo Coffee Mill purely by chance on our way to hit the saddle road because they had a sign out front advertising that they were a coffee shop. We were not disappointed. We stopped for breakfast and coffee on our way out. The latte was delicious and try the ham/cheese/egg bagel with the wasabi mayo on everything bagel. I wish I could've had more. I'll be trying that at home too. We bought some coffee for friends and family and it was all very good too. Worth a stop.

Aloha jules_travel55857, Mahalo for taking the time to share your visit at Hilo Coffee Mill. I'm so glad you liked our housemade wasabi mayo. It is very popular on our 'Millworks' bagelwich. And a great idea to buy some fresh roasted coffee for family and friends! We roast on site, so the coffee is always fresh. And we ship too!... More

I stopped here as part of a tour with Island Wide Family Tours (take that tour!). The mill served delicious samples of unusual, local products and had a great coffee bar. I bought some delicious mac nut butter to bring home! A fun stop! Also, this is accessible and has restrooms.
