One of the more awe inspiring sights of my life. And the ride back exhilarating like being on a wave ski that sits 40 people lol . Apparently a 28 acre lump of lava rock broke of recently causing the lava flow to become more of a torrent. So currently the flow into the ocean is a spectacular as it... More

There are not many operations running boats out to see the lava go into the ocean and as far as I could tell only one of them has a metal hull. This boat is a bit larger, thus more people, than the others we saw but because it has a metal hull, it goes right onto the shelf - right... More

Great trip but pretty rough seas. Not sure they need to go as fast as they were going. If you get seasick take a pill first. When I booked they said they would be at the lava sight 30 minutes but it was more like 20 minutes with a 30 minute ride there and back. No need to pay extra... More

If this isn't on your "bucket list" it should be. A very moving experience. Despite heavy seas the Lavaone's masterful skipper, superior design and four 250 HP outboard Hondas never skipped a beat. A helluva show it was too! We took the sunrise tour with the super moon setting behind Kilauea. Be sure to keep your electronic devices (including car... More

Watching lava pour into the sea is watching the earth being created. The Hawaiian belief that lava is the sacred body of the goddess Pele now makes perfect sense. It was also incredibly thrilling and a bit frightening to be so close to steaming lava. You will bet soaking wet and banged around on the ride to and from the... More

We booked an evening viewing, but it was cancelled due to wind. We went on the 2 pm cruise and it was wonderful. So much fun! It was like being on a roller coaster for 2 hours, with magnificent plumes is smoke and flowing lava. a brilliant tour. Thanks so much.

Captain Gene and his team are very professional and customer oriented. They run his little business with flexibitity and honesty. I fully recommend them. They are the only ones that take you to the lava flow entry point in Saturdays. For us, it was the only option and I truly appreciate them willing to take us. It was great because... More

What impressed me was - I was due to go on a dawn Lava boat triip - specifically to do some photography of the lava entering the sea. These were professional enough to email me to tell me that the lava had stopped and what did I want to do. Other boats companies were still taking people out under the... More

We had a group of 6 and did the 5 am ride. We got in the boat in the lot and drove us to the water we went with a full moon. Great ride out to the lava flows. Amazing. Where else can you see this. Then the sun rose and it to was beautiful. Gene and his crewmen are... More
