Nice short stop about halfway between Hilo and Volcanoes NP. If you have any interest in gardening or botany in general, this is a MUST SEE. The orchids are perfect, absolutely amazing. Nice gift shop too.

Marcy was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and process of developing orchids. She helped us understand which orchids were best for our property on the Big Island. The shop is also a garden showroom. You can even have an orchid named after you (for $1000). They develop about 10 new varieties a year.

What a special place to view for free many lovely orchids, as well as the $20,000 one! The scent of the orchids is in the air. Prices seemed reasonable for pots of orchids, instructions on soil and care, as well as packages of soil for the pot. A nice gift shop as well.

A quaint orchid garden with an amazing display of many types of orchids. The colors were most impressive. Not a particularly large venue, however. Be careful of the time of your visit though - when we went, it was only open for 4 hours on two days of the week.

During these trying times, they are just asking for a donation to see their orchids. It is certainly worth a free will donation to visit the greenhouse and to see their amazing orchids. All shapes and sizes and many that have been cultivated right here. You can even buy orchids to take back to the states that are correctly packaged.

Paradise, staff is friendly and caring. Orquids are beautiful, I ordered some to be able to share Hawaii with my friends and family.

This was one of the excursions that my husband and I choose to do while we were in Hilo, as I love Orchids. I found there were a lot of varieties that I haven't seen before, like the Chocolate Orchid that actually smells like chocolate. Very nice overall!

What do you do with two teenagers in Volcano, HI when it’s raining all day and everything is closing due to COVID19? Our Airbnb host suggested several things, one of them was the orchid tour. It was so interesting and cool!! Everyone there is amazingly nice and knowledgeable. It’s a 45 minute tour, so not too long. It includes ice cream at the end. If you want to purchase something, there’s a scavenger hunt for the kids while they wait. Definitely try the Tuk Tuk Thai food truck outside until 5pm that had fantastic food! I would highly recommend this tour.
