We stopped by 2400 Fahrenheit on impulse after seeing an advertisement in one of the tourist brochures. The owners were very friendly, as was their dog and allowed us unlimited time to watch them making glasses. The process is intriguing to say the least. One...More

The owner was not blowing glass when we were there, but we were able to see his work in his small gallery. It was some of the most beautiful glass work you can imagine. The items were priced from just a few dollars to several...More

I started collecting their gorgeous pieces years ago and check in to see what's coming down the pike. Worth a trip from Hilo, Kona or on the way to visit Madame Pele's power display of nature!

A glass blowing studio and small shop with a lovely selection of vases, paperweights, jewelry, etc. We got there as they were closing so didn't see it in action but bought a lovely memento that we will cherish.

This artistically gifted couple have been blowing exotic glass here in Volcano for 20+ years. Their work is staggeringly beautiful and I have been collecting pieces from them for years. Just do it!

While we didn't see the glass. Lowing in progress, and I'm not sure if this is that kind of a place, we found the owner to be very generous and interested in talking about the process of making the glass pieces in the shop. I...More

The day was overcast with a light drizzle, so the heat of the furnace where Michael and Misato were firing class pitchers was very welcome. Although they were intent on the work at hand, they were able to chat to explain the process for making...More

The Mortara's are very talented and very pleasant people, both in person and over the phone. Their glass ware is unique and I am most taken with the color combinations. You will probably not find anything like it anywhere else. The prices reflect the quality...More

The small jewelry starts at around $30 and goes up from there. Larger glass pieces were $100 and up. Some much higher. We got an amazing piece that looks like a magma cone surrounded by black lava rock complete with a light... More
