Beautiful Show and Dinner - Safety Precautions in Place
Mar. 2021 • Family
We were a little dubious about booking the luau due to COVID. We’re not in a hurry to stand in any buffet line. But we trust Marriott Vacation Club and are glad we signed up.

First, there was no buffet line and groups were seated separately so you weren’t dining with strangers. We were served most courses at our table. Tables went up one at a time for the main entree that was handed to you on a tray.

The only line was for beer and cocktails. And the show was well worth the price. Great host, music and dancers.

A must see for a true Aloha experience.

Look No Further for an Amazing Luau!
Dec. 2019
If you are staying at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott, there is no reason to leave the property to experience a amazing luau. The food was high-quality, the setting was beautiful and the pride in the local culture shone through in the entertainment. The Marriott delivered on the luau experience we were seeking for a special night on the Big Island.

Our 40th anniversary with our family of 12!
Mar. 2020
We were staying at Kings' Land & this luau was less expensive than one we had attended a few years before at the Hilton Waikoloa Resort. I paid online the night before and was 3rd in line at 4:00 PM to pick up our tickets.
I purchased beautiful hand made leis for all of us for $5.00 each (for charity). We were seated at a table in the back, about 4 rows from the stage. The tables were round and we all fit at one table together. The sun was hot and in our eyes (take sunglasses) but it didn't take long to go down behind some clouds. The bar was open when we arrived and the drinks were delicious and plentiful. My grandson and I watched the uncovering of the pig which was very interesting. We had a group picture taken and everyone wore a lei in the photo making it that much more authentic. The emcee offered a lovely prayer (much appreciated) and sang a beautiful song in his native language that we recognized (Blest Be the Tie That Binds). It turns out that our location was great because no one was behind us so we weren't crowded. The only problem was that we couldn't really see the floor of the stage because other people were seated in front of us, but we could stand up without obscuring anyone's view. The food was fabulous and the show was excellent, although not quite as elaborate as the one we had seen before. The dancers, musicians, & emcees were all very talented. The luau was a highlight of our week long trip, among many other wonderful adventures. We love The Big Island!!!

Best New Years Eve!
Jan. 2020
We went to the Laua at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott. The resort was amazing and the food was great. Open bar from 4-7 and several opportunities to visit the buffet line. The show is on the smaller side with about 6 dancers in total but the traditional pig preparation was neat to see and it is quite the scenic spot.

SPECTACULAR EXPERIENCE
Oct. 2019
When in Hawaii you have to see the hula dancers. ,This event was much more than a show. The setting was spectacular, under the , and you experience a wonderful sunset over the beach. The food was excellent and fresh, but only Luke warm. The variety of dance and fire etc is spellbinding. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Impressed!
Oct. 2019 • Couples
We thoroughly enjoyed this luau! Watching the men dig the pig out of the imu was interesting. There were a lot of people there, but everyone moved through the buffet line pretty quickly. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Fresh fish, kahlua pig, huli huli chicken and steak. Soba noodles, pineapple slaw, garden salad fixings, rice, Hawaiian purple potato salad, sauteed vegetables, rolls, several desserts. I could go on! The entertainment was very good. The fire dancer was outstanding! Very good singers and dancers. I'm baffled by the bad reviews. The only con is that the stage is a bit low hampering the view to some degree.

Misleading
Sep. 2019 • Couples
During booking we were told to come hungry and come thirsty and upon arrival we were told that we can come back to the buffet as many times as we want. The buffet line quickly ran out of plates and the bar closed 2/3 of the way through the show. Several attendees were turned away by the bartenders while closing the bar and were just told that they were closed.

Petty and unfortunate things like this spoiled a very well put together show.

Aloha, I appreciate your comments regarding the luau and will definitely look into the issues presented. Our only mission was to ensure you of a wonderful Luau Night at our Sunset Luau. The bar opens 15 to 20 minutes early at each luau when we drop the gates and guests enter and find their seats. We do normally close the bar about 2/3 of the way into the show. We apologize for running out of plates, and invite you to return to the Sunset Luau as our guests if you are on the Island in the future. Mahalo and aloha,

Really enjoyed the whole experience
Aug. 2019 • Family
Went on Aug 26th, and we all really enjoyed ourselves. Food was plentiful with well organized buffet lines, show was great and band/MC/performers all appeared to be great at their craft, and even the bar was great. Took no more than 2 minutes to get a drink. My 7 year has severe allergies and they perfectly accommodated with a special plate prepared for him. We didn’t know what to expect, and showed up at 4pm for registration, and immediately decided to wait and line up until the 4:45pm seating open. We were happy to be able to get our preferred seats up front and center. Music started and bar opened at 5pm, dinner buffet started at 6pm, and show was 7-8pm. Kids got some temporary tattoos before dinner. Once you get your seat you can take a stroll down to the beach and enjoy the sunset. Sun is strong and sort of in your face during 5-6pm, but then when it sets behind the stage for the show it’s really beautiful. Show is on a grassy lawn, which is better than asphalt like some other nearby luau’s. We were happy with our choice.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY$$$$$$$$$$

Terrible boring food....stand in line 45 minutes for drinks...3 bartenders serving 300 people....stage too low to see most dancing...tables in stinking hot sun where drinks melted in minutes...sad desserts...go out to dinner instead
