Best thing we did in Kauai. Bob and Nick were a great crew, funny and friendly with lots of knowledge to share. I really liked that they take a limited number of guests on their catamaran--everyone got a seat, it was easy to move around, and we didn't feel squished in. You could even help yourself to beverages if you... More

Captain Bob and Nick made this a lovely, easy day of sailing along the NaPali coast. We motored close along the shore to catch views of everything (staying just ahead of bad weather) and got lots of information about the coastline from Nick. Snorkeling was in a beautiful spot full of sea turtles, great fish and reef. Lunch was delicious... More

This is the fourth different NaPali cruise I've done and by far the coolest. Most time spent along the scenic parts of the coast. Closest to the coast. Actually sailed for part of the trip out. Best snorkeling area so far. Smallest boat so smallest group size. The first mate Nick was awesome - very knowledgeable and engaging. They did... More

Early June of this year, I scheduled a trip with Captain Sundown for an October sailing. I picked the Thursday that best fit my schedule. Shortly after, Captain S wrote back asking us to pick Monday, as that Thursday won't be good weather I complied, and rescheduled all other activities. Oct comes and we are now in Kauai. On the... The only downer, beyond their control, is that rough conditions on the Na Pali coast caused a relocation of the snorkeling leg to the south shore, where the coral seemed half dead, but there were plentiful fish. All the other tour boats of different companies seemed to do the same relocating. The narration was good.

The Na Pali coast is a must sea when visiting Kauai. Seeing by boat is a great way to do it and Captain Sundown provided a great experience. The boat is a large catamaran with plenty of room. It leaves right from Hanalei Bay and takes you down the coast to a great snorkeling spot. We even spotted a good... More

The trip with Captain Sundown was amazing. Gorgeous views of the stunning NaPali coastline and incredible snorkeling. The captain was great and his first mate, Nick, shared lots of interesting information about the history of the area. They made sure everyone had an enjoyable, relaxing experience. Huge thumbs up for Captain Sundown!

We took off from the Hanalei Bay which was very convenient for us since we stayed at the Princeville Westin. I really appreciated there were only 15 passengers so it wasn't too crowded. The ride was breathtaking and the snorkeling was outstanding. The trip out to the Na Pali Coast was breezy and picturesque. First Mate Nick was full of... More

No matter which catamaran operator you use, do not eat breakfast. If you tend to get seasick, forget the NaPoli coast.by any kind of boat. Do not have your heart set on snorkeling. I am not sure they take small children, but I would not. Captain was very experienced and his deckhand was knowledgable and attentive to customer needs. The... More

A day with Captain Bob and his crew will linger for a lifetime! This veteran Vietnam Nam marine is a salty, bearded sailor who appears to be more comfortable on the sea than land! He navigates his beautifully handmade craft with skill and confidence while making everyone on board feel comfortable as they take in one of the most beautiful... More
