The weather and ocean were temperamental during our December stay so finding good snorkeling was tough -- the summer favorites like Tunnels and Ke'e were not even safe for swimming. We ventured south to Salt Pond Beach on a weekday and found it almost empty...More

A nice day spent on the beach. Snorkeling was average. Picnic facilities were a nice bonus and provided shade for those looking for it. There are no waves here so it’s great for very young families or those who want to float/wade. Our day was...More

Off the beaten path- less touristy than other beaches. Safe swimming space for kids, especially if they are new to snorkeling. Lifeguards galore. A sea turtle was sun bathing near us. Spent a couple of hours there, just taking in the calm.

Nice hidden beach off the main road with plenty of easy access parking. Plenty of tide pools to explore and snorkel

Great beach, not too busy. There’s pavilions and a life guard. A monk seal jut happened to be sunning there that day.

Great Park. Keep your distance from the tent campers. The beach and water are very pleasant. Clean Bathrooms. Midweek the park is never over crowed like some other beach's on Kauai.

Nice sandy beach, a little safer than many, with rock walls helping to protect the bay from the crashing waves seen elsewhere. Swimming and snorkelling in the shallow waters. As with most beach parks it benefits from picnic tables and barbecue pits, toilets and showers....More

This is our favorite beach so far in Kauai. The waves are super mellow with lots of good snorkeling spots. Rafael's taco truck was parked down there and we had some amazing tacos al pastor for lunch. It was an easy mile walk down from...More
