Like other places on Kauai this is not fancy touristy location. The washrooms are very basic but adequate. If you like sun and swimming on Kauai this is one of the most safe, least crowded, places to relax and just enjoy the simplicity of a nice swim, golden sand, and a palm tree to sit under and read a book.... This large, popular beach is a good bet for those staying in the nearby resorts. Lots of sand and snorkelling make day trips a pleasure. The beach is very popular for sunset viewing as well. Take your beach chairs and make a day of it. Covered picnic tables and washrooms are on site.

We didn't experience great snorkeling on the island of Kauai, however, you will see some decent variety of fish snorkeling near the rocks that enclose much of this area. The shallower rocks near the eastern side of the beach actually provided more clarity than the more western side where most people were at. There is also a small bathroom -... More

Salt Pond Beach Park might have it all. The sand is super soft for sunbathing. The water is warm for swimming and certain areas are full of fish. Which is great for snorkeling. The actual salt ponds are very interesting. Then there's the sunsets. They are really nice from here. Even the locals come to watch.

Very clean beach in a cove area so very sheltered from the emenities. Sand is a fine white sand freat for sun bathing. Great water temperature!

I love going to the small pond at the end of the parking lot. There are a bunch of fish on the reef there. Its fun to play on that side when the waves break over the rocks, kind of like a salt water jacuzzi. There is a lifeguard on the larger beach. Clean bathrooms and plentiful picnic areas/shelters/BBQ grills.

Salt Pond Beach is located in Hanapepe, it is a wide crescent-shaped beach that is good for both snorkeling and swimming and is lifeguarded. Facilities at the park include restrooms, showers, pavilions and ample parking. It is a very popular beach with both tourists and local families. When we were there a food truck selling Mexican food was in the... More

A few miles past Poipu you come to Hanapepe and just past the little town, a sign points you to Salt Pond. Go. It's a wonderful crescent of sand with a reef break out a bit so it's a great swimming spot for all ages We were wishing we had our snorkels with us as this would be a great... More
