The people at the "westernmost bookstore in the US" could not have been more friendly or helpful! What a cool place! The icing on the cake was they were having a book signing and the author was delightful. Definitely a must for all book lovers.

This award-winning bookstore is full of new and used gems... and the ambience is warm, welcoming and informed. It is easy to spend a few hours browsing the floor to ceiling shelves... and the couple that runs/owns it are so friendly and helpful. I would go back in a heartbeat. Loved this bookstore.

We stopped off at Talk Story after a morning of driving from Princeville. In honesty, one of our goals for the trip was to visit this westernmost book shop. Our visit did not disappoint. We spent way more time than we had planned to spend. The owners were wonderful people who made great recommendations. I may have even found a... More

Advertised as the farthest west bookstore and a unique one it is. A huge selection of books in this crammed full shop. We always find something of interest here with a mixture of new and used books. Always fascinating children's selection. I found two novels by favorite authors that were in perfect condition but sold as used. Also found a... More

This is a great little bookshop. It's a bit quirky but not in a bad way, If you have cat allergies, be aware that there is one on the premises. The old main street of Hanapepe is worth visiting, for a view of what the island was like years ago.

While there, a lady who had been attacked by a pit bull was asked by a female clerk why she had been attacked since pit bulls are such sweet animals. Honestly, that coloured everything else since I felt that was so rude and presumptuous. So, I felt the clerk was overly forward and familiar, which, for me, is not a... More

My family went to Hanapepe to walk around a small Kauai town on a Friday, right before the Friday Night art walk. This is a great, cute independent bookstore, with a lot of books on Hawaii, Hawaiin culture, history, etc, in addition to non-Hawaii books. I have been to the popular and very Manhattan Strand Book store, and this (also)... More

If you love books, you don't want to miss a stop here. There's a shop cat, the owners are super friendly, there are new and used books, the lay-out is great and it smells like a book store!

This is the best side of Hanapepe. You have the best gallery and the coolest bookstore across the street from each other. The couple that run the book store were awesome to talk with and they recommended some perfect beach reading books! This town has personality!
