We visited during their Annual Walk of Compassion - what a cool and inspirational event! My children enjoyed lei making, mochi pounding, fish prints and other fun activities while I walked the lovely hillside path and visited the beautiful shrines that line it. We were...More

This place is magical...so far my favorite place...and there is no doubt that if I lived on this island I'd volunteer here. The vibe, connection and peaceful feeling was so very special that there were tears in my eyes. DO NOT miss if that dates...More

This is a wonderful place to tour as it is quite lovely and has a terrific story of volunteers, serendipity, energy and history. The hillside of shrines, built by teenage immigrant workers from Japan in the early 20th century, makes for a meditative walk. The...More

Check to see when they're giving talks/tours. This is a sacred place steeped in centuries of history, from the Hawaiians to the Buddhists but it definitely is an ecumenical center.

We attended the 16th Annual Pilgrimage of Compassion. The walking path winds through 88 shrines built by Koloa plantation workers long ago in a beautiful setting. This area is all about gratitude and commitment. Very peaceful.

I was so lucky to stumble on a short mention of this center before our visit and we happened to be there on the second Saturday of the month. My husband and I greatly enjoyed our time here. They greeted us with tea and cookies....More
