This trail is best hiked when the weather is/has been dry. You will see lots of different terrains and experience some amazing views. Take lots of water and wear good hiking shoes. Some areas of the path have been mucked up by the horses being ridden on the trail, so watch your step! Picnic area at top of ridge. This... More

Trail goes up for at least a mile. Fitbit measured 64 flights and about five miles. Wear hiking shoes/boots and use hiking stick if needed for muddy areas. Depends on your skills. Sounds of forest birds singing, spectacular views. At top is a covered picnic table with several benches. You will definitely get the feel of being in the mountains... More

Great views along the way. Lots of vistas, birds, various flowers and trees. Easy hike. You can go to the picnic area and back for a total of about 2.5 miles or continue to the end of the trail and back out for about 4 miles total

We did this hike five years ago and wanted to do it again this trip. Not a real sunny day but nice views of the "back country" and mountains. It's an easy hike and you really do see many types of green. This is a good hike for all ages.

Go early in the morning for the stillness and the birdsong. Pack a snack or lunch to eat at the top and enjoy panoramic views at the top. A great hike even for a granny with bionic knees.

One of the best short hikes on the island. The views from the ridge are great, the vegetation luxurious, and the other hikers very friendly. Lost my wallet here and an unidentified good Samaritan returned it to our hotel.

This is a great hike, with amazing views of the interior mountains, the ocean and parts of Kapaa. About 3 miles round trip from the beginning to the bridge, where that hikes ends and the Moalepe begins. Well worth it!

To get here simply get on Kau'moo Road and drive it until it is gets more and more narrow and there will be a small parking lot for about four cars on the right. There IS a sign there for the trail. I like this trail because a) the views are incredible, b) the trail is pretty well maintained (no... More

This walk took us about 2 hours. It's about 4.5 miles. Pleasant walk through the forest, gradually going uphill. We did carry on past the picnic area and over the bridge. There's an interesting forest of paper bark trees to go through. Wonderful tree ferns and some very pretty, although invasive, tulip trees. Great views down the valleys. Lots of... More
