This place is absolutely a must visit while in Kauai. Very serene and tranquil surroundings,. Beautiful hindu Siva temple very impressed to learn, the monks are well versed with chants and rituals. Temple is closed by the noon.

Spent a morning on these peaceful and tranquil grounds. If you want to step away for a moment of calm, this is the place to go. Beautiful views and stone sculptures only add to the experience.

The monastery was just beautiful & green. Attended the Puja, it was amazing. The energy was so calm & relaxing. Wonderful gift shop. Items were pricey though.

Just go and plan on spending an hour at least. people here are respectful of nature and each other. No pressure to donate but you can if you wish. The views from up there are magnificent

It won't take real long walk... moderate walk to get to temple..and in-between you get benches to rest if needed.

Namiste fellow travelers. The monastery is quite worth the time and effort. There are no tours in December so you may just be able to slide in on the last tour of the year! There is the link for cruise ship passengers... More

The Siva Lingam is truly noteworthy and the attending priest is from Malaysia and speak good Tamil.
