Recommended. You won't need more than than an hour or even less. It's in active use, so voices are kept down, people in shorts are asked to put on sarongs that they're wearing shorts and in one area to remove their shoes. I was struck by the feeling of calm and grace there.

I would recommend taking time to visit this Monastery. I had a very relaxing morning wandering the exceptionally well manicured gardens. Full of creativity, amazing flowers, plants & sculptures. It is a place you can easily get lost in the calm beauty. Seeing the the new Monastery being built is unreal. The carving, care & time put in is worth... More

A serene temple surrounded by beautiful gardens and the Wailua river gushing through it. The place was very easy to find with Google Maps. Understandably it being a monastery there are rules on when you can visit and what you can and cannot do. There are people to guide you. Their website is also quite informative.

Very peaceful, tranquil and scenic location for a Hindu temple. It is a simple place of worship amidst some very scenic landscapes. It was difficult to find the temple as there are no road signs. It is a Shiva Temple. It is open from 9 AM to 13:00 everyday.

spent a happy 2 hours here on a friday morning - need to arrive after 10:45 and leave by noon as this is a real monastery and only certain hours are set aside for guests - it is exotic and beautiful , and volunteers and monks most welcoming - excellent signage to explain the history of the monastery and tenants... A blissful experience. Very courteous and understanding monks. I experience really bliss when I entered here. Check out the place and surroundings. We could see Rudraksha tree in their own forest.

After more than 10 previous visits to Kauai, I thought that I had seen it all. But, thanks to Trip Advisor I found a place of beauty, peace and tranquillity that I had never heard of before. I am tempted to keep it to myself to avoid having it overrun by too many others. This Monastery is situated on a... More

This was a surprise as I wasn't expecting the very lovely grounds and temple. We were allowed to go in during a service, sit quietly and mediate. There is a nice little shop with interesting books, jewelry, incense, and carvings. Everyone there was so welcoming and kind.
