This is a very interesting bunch of sites. I personally would not want to walk the 10+ miles. You can drive to quite of few of the sites, and keep the hiking for when you need it. Download a map and sites on line. Just search for Koloa Heritage Trail.

10 mile, 14 stop tour that tell history of the Koloa/Poipu area. Sort of a scavenger hunt. The map starts at the Spouting Horn, but coming in from the North into Koloa, you can knock out 4 right away, followed by what is listed as #9 off the bypass road. The remaining 9 can be seen with a leisurely drive... More

There are parts of the trail that are paved and accessible from resort areas, but there are parts that are down at the end of a dirt (and pretty Rough) road. The section along by the cliffs has some spectacular views, especially when the winds are up and the waves are crashing against the Cliffs. This trail is actually the... More

I think some of these reviews are for PART of this trail. The full trail is a 10+mile trail that could be walked, but would be quite long. As things should be when visiting Hawaii, it is best to slow yourself down and allow yourself to enjoy what is around you. This is part of the Aloha Spirit, and part... More

When we took this fairly easy walk on a dirt trail, we saw whales, turtles and folks fishing! The views are stunning. Bring plenty of water, wear sneakers or hiking shoes, and watch out for the golfers on a portion of the trail by the golf course.

We started out to see all 14 sites, and had the map they provide. It ended up being sort of a scavenger hunt for the markers....We found them all, but a bit frustrating for my husband. If they would have said, This one is behind the Sheraton, This one is on the Marriott Shoreline, it would have been helpful. All... More

Wow, what a nice little hike that starts from the beach of the Grand Hyatt. It is an easy hike on sandy and dirt path, with some shade but mostly exposed. We went when there was strong gusts of wind so we stayed away from cliff edge. This hike is well worth it. You can pick up an information booklet... More

The trail covers several miles around Poipu and Koloa. Not something you would do in one outing. We found a section that runs from just north of the Poipu Shopping Village to the Catholic Church in Koloa. Trail is about 1.5 miles in the " bush" then meats up with Hapa Road , one more mile and your in town.... More

Great place for a short hike/walk and to learn a little about Hawaiian culture. I can not classify this as a hike, more of a walk into the past... very worthwhile and gives one an appreciation for the life style of the ancient Hawaiians and the type of environment. Good for familes
