The only feature of this beach is for snorkeling, there is great underwater coral and rocks for fish to hang out around. I had 3 opportunities to go snorkeling while at Kauai this previous week. It's at a small bay, so somewhat protected with less surf than the larger beaches and minimal undertow or riptide risk. This was the beach... More

Four years ago we stayed near to this beach and discovered great snorkelling. The beach is not the best for sunbathing as it is pretty small and there is a small access area that is good for getting in the water. We came back to stay in the same locale because we could walk to the beach for the snorkelling.... More

that may not be there at high tide. It is located across from the Lawai Beach resort (go figure, huh). Looks like there were more snorkelers than beach goers. This may be better suited for snorkeling than sitting on the sand.

Lawa'i has wonderful snorkeling that is easy to access. There's usually a parking space right in front. There are a lot of rocks on the beach and it is very narrow, so this isn't a "stay all day" kind of beach but just a great spot to get into the water and see a great variety of marine life.

When we got to Lawa'i Beach, the tide was in and there was no sand visible. You have to climb over the rocks to get into the water. Once in the water this is a great place for snorkeling. Lots of tropical fish.

The beach is tiny, next to the Beach House restaurant. Restrooms across the street. Although there are a lot of rocks, there is a sandy spot near the center with room for a couple of people to enter the water to snorkel. I saw maybe 15 or more types of fish in about 30 minutes, fairly close to shore. No... More

Great beach for snorkeling. Can be difficult to get into because of the rocks. Should be a bit experienced due to the entry. Some people were struggling to get in the water. A bit of a current on the right side of the beach when we were there. Small beach area which isn't great if it gets busy.

Good small beach. Has restrooms and is good for snorkeling. Rocky bottom so not so easy to get into and swimming not so much. But swimming in the ocean is not so easy to come by on Kauai in general. Great fun to just sit and watch the surf as all or most beaches are. If a seal or turtle... More
