We went to the Hawaiian Trading Post to get some gifts for ourselves and our friends after reading about it in our travel guide. Unlike the many other places you will find on the islands, the Hawaiian Trading Post is not your typical tourist trap with exaggerated prices and cheap imported junk. The shop is separated into two sections. In... More

We visit this shop whenever we are on Kauai. Their prices and selections offer something for everyone and in a comfortable price range. One side is jewelry and the other side is clothing and souvenirs. Last time I purchased a Niihau necklace and this time purchased black coral earrings and pendent to go with my Denny Wong necklace. All purchases... More

This is a fun place for souvenirs. They have nice clothing, typical Hawaiian trinkets, and beautiful jewelry. You can even have custom jewelry designed! Prices for basic items are on par with the rest of the island. I purchased some inexpensive pearl items here as did my friend. We each left with a pearl drop necklace and some earrings. I... More

Really nice shop. We didn't purchase any jewelry, but it all looked lovely. The clothing and souvenirs were top notch and different form the typical souvenir shops.

We thought it would be more authentic items. The jewelry was unique, but not for everyone. The souvenirs were disappointing as most were not even made in Hawaii. If you want something more authentic, there is a great craft market we came across in a park in Waimea. Not sure if it is there all the time but we stopped... More

This is a very large store with a wide variety of items. We wound up purchasing a Black Pearl necklace and a pair of Yellow Pearl earrings. Sales associates were friendly and very helpful. There is something for everyone and the price range to match.

I bought a fun seed bracelet for a dollar, and also some black coral earrings & necklace for under $100. Lots of variety here-also bought a beautiful baby quilt for a take back home gift. Cute photo op places outside the store around the parking area.

I really feel like this was a jewelry store with a souvenir shop attached. They did however have some spectacular Niihau shell leis, coral and pearl necklaces. The souvenir shop side seemed a little pricey, but not to bad. Service is great and the store is immaculate. It is worth a stop.

The women were lovely and so helpful. They offered specials without being pushy. Very authentic Kauai charm. I wanted a new strand of pearls and they helped me find the perfect choice. Would def recommend.

This store is one of the best places on the island if you are looking for Hawaiian jewelry and clothes. Limited selection of souvenir type items. Very much worth a stop if you are on the road headed to visit Kauai Coffee, Hanapepe, Waimea Canyon, or other sites on the southwest/western side of Kauai.
