The waters are warm, calm, and amazingly colored. Protected by an outer reef this beach is very welcoming and is worthy of spending an entire day with a picnic, relaxing, swimming, and enjoying one of the nicest beaches in all of Kauai.

Divided and protected by rocks, you can swim easily here, if you don't crossa bodyboarder, an apprentice in paddle board, so many snorkelers and maybe a monk seal... You understood that it's the beach the most crowded I saw on the island. The town is...More

Nice, clean, fun beach! Kids had fun "boogie boarding" - and you can rent them just across the street. There are picnic areas, restrooms, etc. Great facility for families!

I loved the quietness of this little bay-like part of the coast. Though it was a popular spot, there is plenty of room to spread around. I had the best snorkeling experience yet at this spot. Also, the driving access was super easy, the parking...More

Gorgeous beach at an incline, plenty of room to set up chairs and blankets. Pretty good snorkeling! There's an area that is calm for little kids that turtles swim in. Unfortunately, for the turtles this causes a real frenzy. Please, please don't bother the turtles....More

This was one of the closest beach is to our hotel. When we got there it was packed a very small beach and there were needles all over the place.

This beach will not blow you away when you first see it, but it is a hidden gem. It's walking distance from most places in Poipu so that makes it better. You may see kids playing while a wedding is taking place in the park.

This beach has a protected area for young children and another side for more advanced swimmers. Every time I have been there I have seen monk seals sunning on the sand. Last time, one seal was even swimming. The first time I saw a turtle...More

Tons of fish and calm surf. It was perfect for us to learn how to snorkel! It is a little crowded, but not any worse than many other beaches. Go to Loco Coco down the street after!

A breakwater protects part of Poipu from waves and current. It's shallow there, sandy, and especially nice for kids or adults who just want to float around and relax. It may be one of the best beaches on Kauai for just relaxing. This beach is...More

It would be good for beginner snorkeling! It is protected by a reef so water is not rough. You need to be aware that in some spots the distance between rock and water surface is very very shallow and you need to be careful... More
