This is a pretty beach near the Hyatt, but has always been closed when we visit. Good for watching surfers.

If you are going to take a hike while in Poipu start at Shipwreck Beach. Drive past the Hyatt to the Poipu Bay golf course, but go down the road to the beach. The trail starts there and goes for a few miles along the cliffs and golf course, with great views. After passing the stables, you head down to... More

Great views and worth the short trek up to the cliffs. Not something you would spend all day doing, but worth it for the bucket list.

This is a beautiful, often quiet beach... however not necessarily good for swimming... check with locals... sometimes high waves and lots rip currents... Not good for snorkeling... but we did see some surfers

The good: nice size beach in front of the Hyatt in Poipu. Calmer in winter. Best swimming is to the east. Saw a monk seal bathing himself on the beach. These seals get roped off so no one will bother them but you can still be fairly close behind the rope. Very cool to see! The Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail runs... More

Great sand, waves, views, outstanding beach. Break seems great especially for boogie boards. Cool cliff than some bravely jump off.

This was a short hike for us. We nearly made it to the golf course but it was hot and we decided to turn around. The views are amazing from the bluffs.

My husband & I started out hiking the Heritage Trail from this amazing beach and we were blown away at how beautiful it was. We didn't have any chairs along with us but we just stood in the trees before and after our hike and enjoyed the sound of the waves and the beautiful coast line on this beach. If... More

Great beach to hang out at, read a book, watch the surfers, have a beer. Beautiful not super crowded beach. Strong swimmers can swim, kids were playing the shoreline and waves, and surfers and boogie borders just out front. Also can see the cliff jumpers just off the left.

When the surf is up, this is a real nice place to watch the surfers and boogie-boarders. When it's a bit calmer, it's a beautiful beach for some adventuresome swimming. Like pretty much all of the beaches on Kauai, the sand is awesome. To the left are the lithified cliffs that you can reach by car on the dirt road... More
