The Top Golf Experience on Kauai; Our 27-hole Golf Facility was designed by Mr. Robert Trent Jones Jr.-in the late 1960s. We recently went through an extensive renovation to 18 (Oceans & Lakes Nines) of our 27 holes (Woods Is Still Open But Was Not Renovated). The new 18 was opened in January of 2010 and is now know as the Makai Course. The new and improved championship Makai course is a breath taking par-72 at over 7,200 yards. We proudly boast some of the most epic ocean/mountain views Hawaii golf has to offer.

The course was in excellent shape. They did a major renovation a couple of years ago. The grass on the greens does not have a grain to contend with. One of the problems is paying attention to the course, especially the holes by the ocean :) ! Prices have gone up, check with your hotel on discounts, or get the... More

Some wonderful golf holes along ocean. Great view of Queen's Bath from #7 tee (signature hole...all carry over ocean). Great facility, range and super friendly staff. Not cheap (teeoff.com will save you a bit) and an hour from airport (north) but definitely best golf on the island in my opinion.

This course is distracting due to all of the beauty that surrounds you. However, when you can focus on the course, you'll notice it's in great shape and a challenging design that makes for an enjoyable round. Don't miss out!

My wife and I just returned from a trip to Kauai. One of our mornings was spent playing golf at Makai. The course was very nice and in very good shape. A few of the holes had great views of the ocean and surrounding area. I'm not sure if the price of the round was really worth it as there... More

I do not golf, but have always wanted to see the views from the Makai Course.. last evening, I did. It was breathtaking. Saw Albatross nesting, Bali Hai, the Queen's Bath, among many other views. Tom, from Makai, then told us about great deals for beginner golfers, and if I'd done this earlier in the trip, I would definitely have... More

We have enjoyed the Makai courses several times in the past. However, since I rarely play golf, I was ready to give up the sport. On this trip to Kauai, we decided to participate in the Monday night Mahalo Mixer which includes a clinic with golf pro, Andrew Schmidt, playing 3 holes at sunset and enjoying a glass of Prosecco... I really enjoyed my round on this course. The views, starting almost right away, were awe-inspiring. The course itself was in great shape. The fairways were perfect, and the greens were very nice. The holes were wonderful risk/reward designs. I played a bit conservatively and managed to break 40 on the front nine. The wind is pretty strong on the... More

The day we were supposed to play Makai, we had showers every other hole and had to stop playing after 7 holes. The management was very flexible in allowing to complete the course. Indeed, in the end we just ended up playing our 18 holes on the next day, thus ensuring we had a proper Makai experience. By then, the... More

This was our favorite activity on this trip. We've meant to go the last few times we were on Kauai, but the weather never cooperated before. This time we finally got to do it and it was awesome! Driving the golf carts around was a lot of fun, and some of the scenery was just breathtaking. It's not that expensive... More
