This beach is absolutely gorgeous, and there were the right amount of people enjoying it... we were not eerily alone, but we had plenty of space to ourselves (it's huge). You can see the NaPali coast on your right, and a beautiful sunset to your...More

One reviewer said there were no facilities--- they just didn't go far enough on the road to the right hand side. There are picnic tables and some rest rooms if you dare. This beach is remote enough that some locals forget their swim suits. If...More

This place truly makes you feel you are at the end of the world. The sunset is even more amazing here as it makes you feel you are on another planet. The road is honestly not so bad. We drove there a couple of times...More

This is a great beach to just go and explore and have fun at. We had a rainy day on Kauaii and a 4-wheel drive jeep so we went off-road mudding to Polihale. It was a blast. The beach area was not completely empty of...More

Went with a friend who had been many years ago. Whenever I return to Kauai, I’ll be certain to make time to come back here. Beautiful long sandy beach, western views (stay for sunset), and great waves. Bring for food & drink because there’s no...More

tt is remote, down a long rough dirt road, but well worth the five mile drive. Bring food and about anything else you think you will need. There are no services except a couple of rest rooms. Enjoy the solitude, the soaring cliffs and the...More

We were told that this beach is where locals like to go on weekends. It is definitely not known to tourists and a great secret! We drove about 20 minutes on bumpy dirt roads to get there, but it was so worth it. There was...More

Took me 30 minutes to go the five miles down a rocky dirt road it takes to reach this park, averaged about 12 mph, but it certainly was beautiful. The locals will tell you if you get stuck here, forget calling AAA, they won't help...More

We went here on a friend's recommendation and I am soo glad we did. This was our favorite beach in Kauai. The drive there is not easy, unless you have a jeep or a 4-wheeler. We did not, and kept getting double minded if we...More

When we came through the clearing at the state park, I felt like I was in the Sahara Desert! The beach was expansive, natural, untouched, fabulous! The drive is tough... several miles of rutted dirt road. We drove it in the rain in all all...More

On a Friday afternoon, I could count perhaps 10 vehicles along a lengthy stretch of perhaps half a mile of beach. It is limited in the number of visitors due to the long, rough ride to reach this beach. Be aware, there are... More

As linh88 said, there is a small dirt parking area under trees (2-3 cars size). We were able to park there. We didn't drive or park on the sand.

I think so because camping is allowed and cars drive on the beach. But I can't recall seeing remnants of past fires when we were there
