This is one spectacular place which is the beginning of the Na Pali Coast. The sand dunes are the highest on Kauai and sometimes the wind whips up the sand to a sand blasting fury. The road is dirt and full of dips, hollows and...More

My favorite place on the island. Very rough road in so a 4x4 would've been preferred but secluded beaches for miles

I wanted a beach that was as far from civilization as you can get, and this is pretty close. If you look north, the nearest piece of land is Alaska. East is Russia, then Japan, then Fiji and Bora Bora. You know it's off the...More

The drive in was not as bad as expected. It was a long dirt road with bumps and some deep puddles but nothing our compact rental car couldn't handle. Once we finally arrived, it was worth the wait. Beautiful views of the Napali coast line,...More

This is my favorite beach on Kauai...not crowded, expansive, cliffs, Ni'ihau offshore, crashing waves. While is it not a recommended swimming beach because of the rough waters, it is a great place to spend a day. The bathroom facilities with showers in several locations are...More

Although this beach is 4 miles down a dirt road off the main highway, it was worth the drive. The road is very bumpy. If you were not used to driving on dirt roads, I would not recommend this. The beach is not very crowded...More

We enjoyed watching the views and waves here. It's a beautiful state park, and definitely worth a visit, particularly on your way to or from Waimea Canyon.

First off.. check your rental car contract. They may SPECIFICALLY restrict you from going down this road in your contract. With good reason, it's a bit much. It's almost 6 miles down this really rough dirt road, take your time and pay attention there are...More

A few friends (and online reviews) told us to go for the sunset here and WOW did they ever give good advice. The light from the sun cast an orange hue on everthing and made it feel otherworldly. We perched on a sand dune and...More

We got to the road late and didn't realize that it was 4.8 miles down a bumpy road. Being in a rental car, we chose not to go to the beach. We were still able to see the sunset though and stayed to watch the...More

On a Friday afternoon, I could count perhaps 10 vehicles along a lengthy stretch of perhaps half a mile of beach. It is limited in the number of visitors due to the long, rough ride to reach this beach. Be aware, there are... More

As linh88 said, there is a small dirt parking area under trees (2-3 cars size). We were able to park there. We didn't drive or park on the sand.

I think so because camping is allowed and cars drive on the beach. But I can't recall seeing remnants of past fires when we were there
