This park is beautiful! Our tour stopped here on the way to Hana. There is black sand beach and as soon as you walk down the stairs to get to the beach, on your right is a short lava tube. You need to bend down...More

This is an excellent park - some moderate facilities but usually very crowded. Picnic tables to eat/sit. Beach and blowhole are very fun but it is not a swimming beach. We had an incident with an older swimmer and I would never let kids swim...More

These were some of the most breathtaking views on our trip. Loved the drive there, the black sand is super unique and something you should experience. The waves were rough but fun. The lava tube cave was a cool perspective, but my favorite part was...More

Wonderful scenery and amazing beach. A nice stop on the way to Hana. We swam in the ocean although there were bug waves. Clear and warm water. Would drive back just to see it again.

I could’ve spent all day there. There’s a beautiful black sand beach, lava rock cliffs, picnic areas, arches, and hiking trails. From the top of the cliffs, you can watch the water splashing below, and sometimes even splashes high enough to mist you. This was...More

There is a lot to do and see here besides the black sand beach. We stayed in the cabins here and were pleasantly surprised at how nice they were. Take some time, relax and enjoy yourself instead of rushing back.

A must do on the road to Hana - and this place is just minutes before reaching Hana. It's spectacular. Short hike to the Black Sand Beach and lots of trails along the coast with lovely views. Can spend a lot of time here (and...More

Yes, there’s the black-sand beach with some very fine sand as others have mentioned. And don’t miss the blow hole that’s nearby and a must-see. But if you’re not looking for “a day at the beach”, there’s also some wonderful trails on which to walk...More

We loved the black sand beach. We saw another one earlier on the Road to Hana, but it had some brown pebbles, too. This one was pure black... and gorgeous! The cave and surrounding rocks are amazing, too. It is worth the trek to experience...More

A must see stop. This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The black sand, lava rock formations and lush greenery is mother nature at her best. Bathrooms are a plus! Best part of our trip to Hana.

It all depends on what you want to see or do. Im assuming the cruise ship hits the west side of Maui, which would stretch the Hana road trip into a definite all day event. A long day. Depending on how much shore time you... More

The Road to Hana is paved and not a problem for rental cars. The biggest issue with the road is it is a tight squeeze in some places, with plenty of one-lane bridges. Just take it slow, watch out for other people, and you... More
