Not often does a beach receive 5 stars from me. I've heard of this place for several years now and only recently experienced it. PARKING: This is the biggest challenge to me. There is a short and narrow dead end road near the former Hana...More

The trail leading to this site is VERY dangerous and must be avoided. The soil and the cliff side are very brittle and has a high likely hood of giving way underfoot. The local staff at our hotel strongly discouraged visitors from going to this...More

The trailhead is a little tricky to find, and the trail itself is narrow following a steep drop to the ocean. If you go south on Uakea Road to the end, there will be a grassy area on the left (east) side. If you stay...More

Beautiful red sand beaches and great place to swim and hang out. The hike down there is also a lot of fun. If you want to get some good photos of the waves and rocks, this is also a good spot. Lots of local culture...More

You have to park your car near the Community Center (Green Building). Look for a path to the right of the building and start your trek down the path along the waterline. It takes about 15 minutes but well worth it. I suggest you wear...More

This gem is a little bit of a walk so be aware. Park along the street once you have reached the end of the road. From here you will cut across a small field and then a bit of a hike for 15 mins or...More

I wasn´t blown away. The entrance to the hike is hard to find so just ask for help. You might think the directions were wrong but the trail starts right next to a school and into the bushes. The trail itself is very easy but...More

This area is on private land, so please be respectful. It is a short trail walk from where you can park your car (make sure your car is pointing the correct direction when parked). The red sand is beautiful

This is more difficult to get to, but well worth it. To stand in red sand was totally different. Not many people because of the hike. Snorkeling and swimming

This is a hidden nugget worth visiting if only for the uniqueness of the spot. Easy swimming and lots of good rocks to jump off. Don't be surprised if you see beachgoes sans swim-wear :)

Red sand beaches located behind the Hana school at the end of Hana Road which is a dead-end. I recommend you get an audio guided CD for your vehicle.
