If you’re in Kihei, put this beach on your list!
LOVED this beach. We stayed at a condo for 10 days that was across the street and we felt like we hit the gold mine. If you love to snorkel THIS IS THE PLACE. There are rocks that separate Kam II from Kam III and if you go around to the Kam III side (a 2 min walk), and snorkel beside the rocks there’s some great coral reef. We almost always saw turtles in this location. On one snorkel trip we saw 4!! Large, small, they’re amazing to see and pretty calm as I’m sure they are use to seeing people often. Some great varieties of fish too! Although we didn’t have much lucky fishing from those same rocks. The beach is great for relaxing, pretty mild waves, but would get some decent little swells in the afternoon which our kids loved for boogie boarding. A nice fresh water wash off and washroom area at the entrance of this beach - and it’s close to many plazas and restaurants. Highly recommend!

    Lovely Beach!
This is a really nice beach. The sand is so soft and the water is fairly clear and just the right temperature for swimming or wading. It tends to get windy in the afternoon so I suggest going in the morning or before sunset when it’s much calmer. The waves aren’t very big so that’s a plus. Not crowded either. There’s also a small park above the beach with a volleyball court and BBQs. Parking is available in a smallish lot too.

    Great beach!
Great beach with excellent snorkelling, soft sand, washrooms, lifeguard station, outdoor shower and reef safe sunscreen dispenser. There is a ton of space and it was never crowded. There is excellent snorkelling closer to the rocks off to the left side of the beach. Our first day we were lucky to see a few turtles! Lots of different varieties of fish too. Make sure you get there early to enjoy the day before the trade winds pick up around 11am-Noon. We went back a few times to enjoy the sunsets, which were stunning.

We visited many beaches on Maui and Oahu this month, and Kamaole II was our favorite. Our condo was located on the north end of this beach, so not near the lifeguard stand and public access. But it's the same sand and a short distance from the public access to the beach. The sand is fine and beautiful, and there are very few rocks on the beach. We saw sea turtles and fish when we snorkeled, and our son had fun with the boogie board when the waves were higher. Many people did paddle boarding, especially in the morning when water was calmer. Such a lovely spot.

We first visited this beautiful beach when we were staying across the street at the Maui Banyan. There is always room, it is clean and the water is wonderful. It was one of the best beaches that we have visited. If you go early in the AM you just might see a turtle on the rocks.

We stayed right across the street from the beach and the popular wall, this wall is sat on nightly for the most awesome sunset view you can get. We built sandcastles there weekly while on vacation.. awesome sand/beach!

I went with my mom. We found a spot in the shade and there were not that many other people. There is a lifeguard, a shower (outdoor/public) to rinse off salt and sand, and a bathroom. The only negative was the floors of the bathroom were wet, so it grossed me out to walk in there. The water was calm when we arrived around 9:30, and the wind picked up by noon or so. Several people snorkeling around, gorgeous Maui views.

This beach was beautiful and we spent a lot of time on this beach. We could see whales from the beach and we enjoyed several sunsets. The sunsets were absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed the humor of the lifeguards after it had rained.

We stayed in Kihei for our recent vacation and explored many beaches up and down the coast. When we needed something close by, Kam II was our choice. The beach was wide and the tide pools at the south end were super for the kids to explore. It was a bit more crowded than I prefer, but plenty of space and a good vibe, with restaurants within walking distance.

The three Kamaole Beach Parks are great. I liked to walk along the shore or on the trail on the palisade, then skip across the street for a coffee or snack, then back to the beach. So easy and relaxing.

Great beach with picnic tables, restrooms, great sand, sun and surf. We saw several turtles who just swam in between us 3 or 4 feet from the shore. Very good snorkeling near the rocks on either end of the beach and we saw maybe 20 turtles while snorkeling over a couple of days.

Our one beach day in Kihei was spent here. Walking distance to everything.

Bring umbrellas and lawn chairs. The sand is pretty hot on the feet.

Lots of whale sightings!

Lifeguard on duty!

This beach is super busy and yet it didn’t feel crowded.

SUNSET! You want that perfect Maui sunset pic? This is your beach.

Pay attention to tides as the tide comes in pretty quickly. I watched a few people run to catch their belongings as they began floating LOL!

Can’t wait to return
