I usually do quite a bit of research before travel, so that we have a variety of places to visit and restaurants to choose from. But I didn't get around to reading about the Seven Sacred Pools, so I had little expectation of it. I...More

So the road to hana is a bear but I'll tell you the road to the pools is likely more intense! It's an incredibly pretty drive along the coastline but often it's a one lane road so take your time. It's in a national park...More

THE NANNY STATE IS HERE EQUIPPED WITH A KEEP OUT SIGN The Seven Sacred Pools were no doubt a neat attraction when visitors could access them – dip the feet, maybe go for a swim and if not at least get a close-up view. But...More

This us no longer referred to as the Seven Sacred Pools. I was disappointed that the "need to protect us from ourselves" has been invoked here. The pools are closed to swimming and only viewable from a fenced off trail.

We did the trail by the Seven Sacred Pools after the Pipiwai Trail. The pools and waterfalls were very pretty, but swimming in the pools is now prohibited so don't bother wearing your swimsuit during your visit. The views of the ocean from parts of...More

The pools are closed, you cannot swim in them any longer. However, we still enjoyed the half-mile walk and beautiful view of the pools, the cliffs and the sea.

This was one of my favorite places to visit in Maui, but the NPS closed all the cool pools. You can't even go in and look, let alone swim. The one waterfall that they do let you hike to, they only let you see from...More

From where we can just see the waterfalls, it would have been awesome to see the waterfalls up close, but the trail was closed and you can only see the waterfalls from a limited vantage point. It was only a half mile loop trail from...More

Yes there are but you have to hike. They are not sacred.
