We're a locally owned family business that offer Surf & SUP lessons to anyone who wants to learn the basic techniques to get you surfing, or improve on your skills. Your local experienced instructor is with you throughout your lesson, with your choice of a small group or private lesson. Many years of happy customers learned to surf Hawaiian Style.

Rick and Kai were amazing. They were so knowledgeable and fun. It was a joy and every successfully rode a wave. The park where we surfed was beautiful and had all the amenities needed when young children are part of your group. Best day ever!!

These are not just instructors; they are surfers that get to teach surfing! They know exactly what you need to improve on, and how to apply it. I was a first-time surfer, and the waves are not big, so don’t be worried.

Rick and team are awesome! My family was part of a group outing/lesson and ended up signing up for another session on our own, just to repeat such a great experience. Both sessions were successful on the waves and kept us wanting more. You can quickly tell Rick loves what he does and enjoys seeing his customers have an incredible time! Mahalo for your nice review, surfing with my family stared when my kids were very young too. It's been a life long fun activity that we hope to share with you & your "Ohana" next time your on Maui.

After speaking with one of the instructors by the pool we signed up our 10 year old son and 9 year old girl for a lesson. Noah spent 90 minutes with them and was really great! The spot that was used was close to the resort, safe and perfect for 2 kids who hadn’t been on a surf board before. Pricing was about what I expected and the kids got up and ride many waves into the shore so they didn’t get frustrated or scared and had a great time.
My wife and I highly recommend this surf school!

Both my husband and me have the Kai as our instructor, an handsome and strong boy with much patient. It is so great as we were first time surfing. We were able to get up on our boards pretty quickly and enjoy the Wave. We both tried many times stand up on board to enjoy it and cannot believe this is our first time surfing, we should try surfing early. We went to surfing ourselves the next day too. This is really the light point of our all Maui vacation. Thanks Kai and Thanks Rick!

Rick and Kai were absolutely wonderful to work with. We had a group of 8 and every one of us were able to get up on our boards pretty quickly. They both were patient, encouraging and a whole lot of fun to hang out with for a couple hours. I would highly recommend hiring them if you are looking for surf lessons. I can't thank them enough for making this part of our vacation so awesome!!!

Rick and his crew were awesome. Positive, kept the group together, and told us which waves to catch. Gave us great tips on how to stand up as well as fall correctly. I'd definitely use them again!

As a 54-year-old from the Pacific Northwest, I have always looked longingly at surfers and wished I could someday know what’s it’s like to catch a wave. During a recent trip to Maui, I finally had the opportunity to experience that rush, with a surf lesson with Hawaiian Style Surf. Rick and his son Kai (both born and raised in Hawaii) made it a perfect experience for a first timer. They were patient, encouraging, entertaining and very engaging. It was more fun than I expected and I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to have at least a couple of good rides being as it was my first time ever on a board. Absolutely highly recommend! The one caveat: be prepared to be a little sore the next day – it’s a pretty good workout!
