Ultimate Whale Watch specializes in photographic, non-threatening...

Ultimate Whale Watch specializes in photographic, non-threatening close-encounters with Dolphins, Whales & Turtles since 1982. We have hosted film crews from National Geographic to BBC Wildlife. Operating within the Hawaiian Island Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, we depart from historic Lahaina Town, Maui. From December through May, Humpback Whale encounters are guaranteed and the crystalline offshore waters frequently provide a passing subsurface eye-to-eye view. Many people are truly touched by their experience amongst these intelligent giants.

Tour sizes are for small group whale encounters, 18 or less on a 24 passenger raft style rescue boat. Great maneuverability and speed get you to some of the closest whale action possible, in the world! To ensure current and competent information, the crew is involved with whale research and highly passionate about the whales.

We invite you to come and see for yourself, one of the last remaining great migrations of the Animal Kingdom. And as always, a portion of each ticket sold supports whale research on Maui. Thank you for helping make a difference.

We have always in the past used the larger whale watch companies. This small boat experience was nothing like those. We were very close to the whales. They seemed curious on the small boat and just stayed around us for over an hour. For a while, we were not even sure when we could leave due to the number of... More

Gabe and Sara did a good job. They gave us lots of information and got us to group of 8-9 courting males and 1 female. The males were aggressive and so fun to watch!

Went out with Sara and Tiff who were both very knowledgeable and saw a pod of dolphins and tons of mother and baby whales. We were right in the thick of the action and at several points could seen them in the water they were so close. The boat looks like a raft but don't let it kid you, it... More

This is a wonderful company to do the Whale Watch with They use Zodiac boats with only about 25 people. These boats can move very quickly to find the whales...far better than the large catamaran boats. We must have seen at least 20 whales on our two hour excursion One mom and baby came right beside the boat....amazing day trip!!!!!... More

We've been on several whale watching trips out of Lahaina and this one is great! The water was a little choppy the day we went but the Captain kept us out of the worst water and we still saw plenty of whales. They also dropped a hydrophone so we could hear them singing. We prefer the smaller boats because the... More

We did the 3 Hour photo tour and it was an incredible value for what we got to see and experience! It was our first time whale watching & we were fortunate to be there during peak season. We saw several Humpback whales throughout the tour, probably over 20+ sightings and one or two that almost fully breached! The boat... More

It is an amazing that me and my wife had. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We saw many whales on that day, and the captain moved the boat to different spots allowing us to have a close encounter with them.

If you want romance, this isn't the trip. If you want kick butt entertainment, and a day you won't forget, this is it! Small group, private snorkeling, tons of fun, and we even got into a pod of about 200-300 dolphins!

First we were bounced off our reserved boat by a group of doctors who had booked a private tour, with no explanation. Then we had to wait for the next boat, which was twice the size, in the hot sun. We were not close to the water, the captain zig zagged around seemingly trying to avoid whales, and there was... More

Honestly can not say enough good things about this company and their employees, but we were not too happy with our snorkel tour. My girlfriend and I visited Maui in February and booked 2 tours with them. The Whale watch tour and a separate snorkel tour. The 2 hour whale watching tour was absolutely amazing! Whales breaches within 20 ft... More

Mahalo for your feedback, sorry about the miscommunication with the snorkel trip! During winter season the Lanai Snorkel trip includes 2 snorkel stops and whale watching due to this being a seasonal experience we want all our guests to see, this info has been added to our other marketing materials, confirmation email and info given to activity agents but is...
