I’m thoroughly glad that we elected to do this walk, as it was beautiful and pleasant. I am 6-months pregnant and despite my being very active I was reluctant to do any challenging hike; however, this 2-mile trek was ideal.
The trail is easy to find and not too difficult to walk as it is well managed. Parking is hard to find though! We started the hike around 10:00am, but I would go earlier next time. We had some stunning views and even had a...More
This is a fun and easy walk however no sandals !!! Wear running shoes or a good hiking shoes. There are two free public parking spots, one on either end but I suggest you start at the south end and plan a round trip. The...More
We visited this trail one day after finding it in my guidebook (Fodor's Maui) and weren't expecting it to be much other than a little walking path. However this was awesome! It goes along multiple beaches and over a lava rock cliff which we mistakenly...More
We saved this to our last morning. We went about 7:00 before it gets crowded. High Tide. It was amazing. We saw amazing waves, water crashing into rocks, and whales. We were not disappointed. Great way to finish our stay.
This walk is a mix of bust near the resorts & beaches and more secluded as you reach the gravel trail. The lava rock formations are beautiful & the ocean view is fantastic. The path isn’t entirely flat, so it brought a mild challenge which...More
Parts of the trail are true, rocky trail - part is a paved and busy roadway - part is a flat boardwalk - and two parts are cement pathways...As I said, the Trail has something for everyone.

Just got back from the trail. Parking lots on both ends were full and so was the street. Drove around for about 20 minutes waiting for someone to leave. If you dont mind spending $10, pop into the Kapula Golf Club tennis court parking area...More
If you get a chance to walk this two mile trail in NW Maui, don't pass it up. The coastline is rugged and beautiful. There is a well worn path away from the trial to get to a rock-jumping ledge - one is about 10...More
Start at Kapalua bay and make your way past the resorts to the rough and rocky coastline. You will see the waves crashing on the lava and experience beautiful Oneloa beach on your way past the Ritz to DT Flemming beach. Easy enough to walk...More

There is no charge to walk along the trail. It is very easy path - mostly dirt with some boardwalk areas and a few steps. We had no problem with finding parking but it is limited - mostly at the side of the road with a small parking lot that had a few spaces when we visited. The views are really nice of the ocean. There are also many nesting areas for birds along the way.
