We had a family bbq here recently before a wedding and it was an excellent spot! Just remember to bring your own charcoal and things to clean out the grill if the previous group did not. Great sunset, nice beach, entertaining to watch the canoe...More

This beach is one of many along the stretch of Kaanapali and Lahaina, and it comes with restroom facilities. The water is normally safe for families and for water sports; depends on the tide. Nice to picnic, relax, dip, nap, walk the beach, and plenty...More

Hanakao'o Park is the perfect beach for families. It is one of only 2 beaches in the west with a lifeguard tower. There are also barbecues, tables, rest rooms, showers and shade. The park is usually quiet except for weekends when canoe events are going...More

This is a great place for snorkeling. Straight out from the life guard tower, there are a lot of large rocks. The sea turtles like to hang out here. You have to be careful not to get too close to the rocks or the waves...More

Hanakao’o Beach Park is located on the southern end of Kaanapali Beach. It is very easy to walk there using the beach front walking path from any Kaanapali Beach hotel. The parking lot is between the beach and Highway 30 (also called the Honoapiilani Highway)....More

We have given up trying to "rank" the beaches on our visit; in that there are so many gems on Maui (and all the islands). This is yet another beautiful beach with easy access, good parking, and numerous options for sitting, picnicking, viewing and enjoying...More

We avoided the overly congested Kaanapali boardwalk & ran this path in the mornings. There were lots of turtles a few feet out from the shore. They have many picnic tables, restrooms & a nice beach.
