It's very touristy and not an area I would visit again. We were constantly bombarded by people trying to sell us stuff and it felt a little seedy. We finally decided to just have a bite to eat and take the bus back to Whaler's...More
This is the main street that is along the waterfront in Lahaina. There are shops and restaurants all along the street. Parking is quite limited, but many of the hotels run shuttles there. Hawaiian souvenirs can be found in all the shops. It is geared...More
The heart of Lahaina's tourist zone! Definitely a must see when you visit Maui, lots of cool shops and funky restaurants. The buildings are authentic, one or two stories, no big high rises here! You are right on the ocean, great stroll at dusk.
It’s a very authentic area of Maui with cool little shops and restaurants that aren’t your typical chains. There were restaurants like Lahaina fish company (which I have a review on), cool cats cafe, captain jacks and shops like volcom, billabong and Hurley. Most were...More
We spent a number of afternoons walking through Front Street and enjoying the many shops and galleries. Many different options for eats as well. It was great visiting with some of the galleries and being to visit with some of the artists. Check out the...More
Lahaina front street is part of the Lahaina walking tour. Pick up a map so that you know what your looking at as you shop, dine, walk around.
Overall it was a bit touristy, that is to be expected since cruise ships dock here.

Lots to do in Lahaina for a day. Definitely walk Front street; from banyan tree up to Methodist church, go up one side then back down the other. Many shops along the way. Take your time and browse. Cool Cat Cafe is a good place for a burger. Visit the history museum at Banyan tree park; its nice and its free. Take the bus from Lahaina and go up to Whalers Village just four miles away, ($2 dollars each way). Here you can shop or take a walk along Kaanapali beach. Really nice sandy beach. The beaches are public and free; parking is limited and expensive. No alcohol on beaches. Roads can be crowded and congested so watch times if going south to attractions any distance away.

The one on H-30 coming into Lahaina from the south appears to be open daily and most of the day. The one I know better is on the Lower Honolopoli road, about 1/2 mile up from the split with H-30. It is open Monday / Wednesday / Friday from 7 or 7:30 to about 11.
