Snorkeling trips to Lanai and Whale watching in season

Constantly in search of the "Perfect Day" of snorkeling or whale watching, Captain Steve and his crew will stop at nothing to ensure unparalleled service and quality.

Waste no time in discovering the secrets of the reef and playing with dolphins, humpback whales, turtles and rays. There is no telling what we might encounter on any given day. No two trips are alike, and that's probably what keeps the captains and crew so friendly and accommodating. They are as excited about going to work as the guests are about going on a Maui rafting adventure!

Established in 1986.

Captain Steve's Rafting is a true example of the words "owner operated." Since he started his business in 1986, Steve has been insisting on personal service and satisfaction for every guest. As he explains, "I want to make sure everyone who comes with us absolutely loves the experience."

It's hard to find someone more sincerely dedicated to making visitors happy. That's why so many customers keep coming back to Captain Steve's year after year.

A note with regard to the captains and crew: It is widely known that Captain Steve has been the only operator of the family business for the past three decades, but with the advent of his second boat, he obviously cannot be two places at once. He is therefore committed to selecting only people who truly care about the craft of tourism and wish to make a positive impact on the experience of the guests. Thus "going the extra mile" is always sought after when considering a representative of his company.

Went on the early afternoon cruise. The boat cart was pretty full, lots of room though, did not feel cramped. Once on the water saw numerous wales, the highlight however was when we were mobbed by two wales. They spent time under the craft, as well as surfacing all around. Captain Steve had answered a call for assistance from another... More

This was one of the better whale watching opportunities. We had another trip get cancelled and were Captain Steve's trip was highly recommended. We really liked that it was was smaller group of people on board making it easier to enjoy the experience.

Our 6th visit to Maui for whale season & our second trip with Captain Steve. This excursion leaves from the Mala ramp & makes for easy parking & easy boat loading. This is a rubber sided boat with seats with backs also. Our 7:30 am trip was approximately 25 passengers, so much easier to see the whales on the smaller... More

Great third trip with Capt. Steve's. Our last day found a 3 whale competition which circled and submarined our raft for 30 min.s from just 4 to 20 yards around & under us.

One of the big reasons we went to Maui in January was to watch whales. We went with Captain Steve four times during our stay and we were never disappointed with the experience. Crew is very knowledgeable and the trips were photo experiences of a lifetime. Always fun with captain Steve!

We did the tour in the afternoon, you zit with about 20people in a boat looking for whales. We saw whales before we left the harbour. The captain tries everything to let you see the whales. The boat turns on every side when thee spot whales and the people in front have to zit down, so that the people in... More

Seen many many whales and dolphins on our trip. Got very up close to the whales which was quite surprising to see them swim next to the boat.

I know it's only fun to be on a whale watch only if you see whales. In January we saw Whales. Steve and his helper Deb were fantastic. So informative. Saw lots of whales no matter which directions we looked. Sooo Cool!!! Loved it!

Been on Captain Steve's twice, and the trip out to look for whales always fun--he's as excited as the tourists are! Makes sure we get close enough and are safe from getting soaking wet....explains about the whales habits and what they are doing. Leaves from different dock than Lahaina harbor but easy to find.
