We walked here from our condo. It’s a nice park with trees, grass, and a small sandy beach. The snorkeling between the two rock walls looked decent from shore. It was a bit tricky to get into the deeper area with all the rocks, but once we were past that, there was a sandy bottom and shallow enough for us to stand. We did not see a lot. Ther current (parallel to shore) was strong and we had to front crawl against it even while wearing fins. We saw some fish but only briefly as they were afraid of us.

I would not recommend for snorkeling, but this park is a good place to hang out. There were little crabs on the beach and they were entertaining to watch. It looked like a good place for families with small kids to splash and play in the shallow water before the first rock wall.

Quiet, shady beach. You can swim far out or stay near shore in completely still warm water. Decent snorkelling. Not very crowded any time we went there. Right across the street from great coffee and Farmers Market store for any snack or lunch items. Has a much chiller vibe than most Maui beaches nearby.

We were lucky to end up at this park near our condo. The wallbreak is perfect for little kids and there are areas that are more open for those with stronger swimming skills. There is plenty of shade under the mangrove trees and a large grass area with a bathroom and playground when you want to take a break. Make sure you check out Bad Ass Coffee across the street too!

This was a nice, close beach to our rented condominium, with easy access close to the parking lot. There were public restrooms near the beach.

The beach at this park was well-maintained and offered us a nice opportunity to take a comfortable dip in the Pacific and sit for awhile in the tropical sun.

Best beach for families with kids. Beach is protected by the reef close by creating an almost pool like environment.
Right across from great coffee house and specialty food and sandwich store

Honokowai Beach Park is located just down the street from a bunch of small restaurants with decent take-out service. So, grab food from a nearby shop (or two!) and eat it on a shaded picnic table while enjoying lovely views of the coast.

We've been there a half-dozen times and usually find quite a few locals, but they've always seemed fine with visitors (we stay out of the way of fishermen and parties and never stay that long -- but have talked to a few people who have been polite and friendly).

There's a really hot playground and swings for the kids -- but our kids mostly enjoy wading in the water and around the rocks. Water conditions can change at ANY beach, but every time we've been here, there's been a shallow area along the shore that's perfect for wading and looking for small fish, separated from the larger ocean by rocks.

This little beach park is perfect for kids of all ages. We have a 9 month old and 5 year old and they both had so much fun at this park! Not only is the water perfect for the little ones to splash in but there is also a playground! Be sure to get an acai bowl from the Farmer's market across the street to enjoy while there!

It was difficult to find parking here and even harder to find a beach spot. There's a ledge of coral just offshore so it's a safe place to bring little children who can splash on the beach without being pulled out to the water.
