I love this place. Many photo ops for photographers, a good place to help one understand the history of the Islands. There are picnic tables and restrooms so it makes a good place to stop for lunch when you are out and about. The way it is set up also makes it easy to get away from other people who... More

We stopped at this small park on our way from Iao Needle. What a lovely spot! The buildings, landscape and history of the many people groups who have come to Hawaii is very informative and the grounds make for a delightful place to wander or have a picnic under one of several pavilions. It's worth a stop.

We stopped here for a short visit and were impressed by the various heritage gardens in the park. Very well done and well kept. Lots of nice picnic pavilions and areas. Nice clean restrooms also. Worth a visit.

Brought a picnic lunch, sat near gushing creek (that also goes through Iao Valley park), and enjoyed flowers, trees, etc. There are several small gardens honoring some of the immigrants to HI (Philipines, Japan, China, Korean, Portuguese). It's not even a quarter mile to the Iao Valley, so if it's a busy day, you can just walk from here.

You'll find this garden on the road going to Iao Valley (a mile of so before on the left). Pay attention for the little sign just before or you'll miss it. It's a very nice Asian themed garden featuring plants, flowers, ponds, statues and traditional structures from China, Japan, Korea, Portugal and the Philippines. It is meant to highlight the... This place is located a little ways before the entrance to the Iao Monument. Parking is free. There are Pavilions from different countries (i.e. Japan,China). Each has statues located near them. Ton of picture opps. Running through this is a manmade stream with good size fish swimming around. Beautiful flowers. Very relaxing, walking here is not difficult.

Rich with Japanese culture. The grounds are peaceful, tranquil and quiet. Not meant for loud noise or unsupervised children. Great places to take photos

I've been here before and was happy to see a new sign recently added about four years ago. It isn't maintained to the highest standards but wow what a peaceful place with a spectacular surrounding of towering lush green mountains. A stream flows beside the park and there are multiple areas for families to picnic and cook out. I would... More

This roadside Garden is a wonderful spot to stop and take a short walk. There are places to picnic, covered areas, lots of short pathways through lushly landscaped area (natural looking, rather than formal). Ponds & a waterway feature koi & there is a great deal of information on plaques that provide interesting details on the ethnic background of the... More

Boyfriend and I were out driving after church on Sunday and we ended up in Iao Valley. A beautiful forest road kept climbing into these lush hills where the clouds frequently bury the tops within them. Along the way, we saw a fruit stand and also some of Maui's famous feral chickens. We took the road as far as it... More
