Excellent hike. Fresh air, lush landscape. Trail well maintained. Some trail areas uneven due to tree roots or erosion. Best when trail is not muddy, i.e. avoid going day after heavy rain or on rainy day.

Definitely enjoyed this long hike. We stretched it out and did part of the summit trail which offered some great views. Then we made an offereing at the temple ruins on the way out. Lots of fun!

Hiking this trail was on my bucket list for our family trip to Oahu because GC23 is located on the trail. This geocache was placed in July 2000 and is one of the oldest ones I've ever found. There is also an easy "History of...More

Not really any stunning views, but some good ones. Nice walk through the forest. Looked for the downed bomber but never found it. Good moderate hike.

Great hike away from city, trails mainly in shade, good views of valley, city, 'modern day' concrete H3 Freeway (cool sight tho). Nice, quiet easy trail with some slight incline spots. Bring food and of course H2O, take a break from your already leisure walk.

Before you start walking, a huge suggestion: Walk the trail clockwise and park your vehicle at the lower parking where the trail exits back into the paved parking. Why? One trail head is at the top of the hill, the other trail head is towards...More

This trail seems a lot longer than it is advertised as. We took about 4 hours and there were parts that were very hard to get past due to the recent rains. Make sure you take along water and give yourself plenty of time. It...More

Coming from the southwest desert, I was looking forward to hiking a 'rainforest''-like trail. I also enjoy geocaching and this trail holds the oldest one from Hawaii. I made the mistake of going in the late afternoon, so I felt 'rushed' because I didn't want...More

Went with my nephew here for a hike during the week. We started at the top of the hill parking lot where there is a monument for a World War II era aircraft that crashed into the mountain . Our goal was to find the...More
