We were pleasantly surprised with the Park. It is a long walk uphill but if you are not up to it you can hire a golf cart to take you up to the falls and then walk down. We did that as we didn't have much time to spend and found the photo opportunities were really awesome. We stopped for... More

There is a lot to do in the park so a couple of hours are needed to relax and enjoy the surroundings. It is worth swimming by the falls. As far as falls go they are middle of the road but since it is an easy walk to and easy to swim by the falls I give it high marks.... More

The admission is a little pricey at $32 per couple. There are a lot of identified plants and trees, which were beautiful, but not as many flowers as I had hoped. It was a hot day so we really appreciated the coolness of the pool below the waterfall. The water levels were low so the falls were probably not as... More

This is a nature preserve rich in Hawaiian history. Along the mile paved walk you will be delighted with the beauty of the Waimea Valley. The best part is at the end where you go down to the actual Falls. Here you can don life jackets(required) and jump into the cool water and swim up to and under the falls.... More

It's expensive for what you get... Botanical gardens were just meh...really, just kind of blah. Not much flora, not very pretty, and not well kept. The falls: measly in size, very cold water, and a high chance of getting sick from bacteria (Leptospirosis) @ $16pp, don't bother. I followed the rest of my group here since they wanted to see... During the Legends of Lost Tour of O'ahu, we got to swim next to the same waterfall that Sawyer and Kate were at in the first season of Lost. We were impressed not only in the waterfall but also in how well maintained Waimea Park was as well. It's almost a mile walk through beautiful gardens and bridges to reach... More

This only gets 4/5 for one reason. Swimming with the waterfall is like swimming in ice, it is incredibly cold! However, the walk to the waterfall is filled with incredible flora as well as some Hawaiian culture. It was a beautiful walk and swimming by a waterfall was fun. The waterfall goes straight down the rocks on most days so... More

Waimea has a nicely paved road for the trek to the waterfall so you can either walk or pay $10 round trip to take the shuttle or $6 one-way. There are many small gravel paths to venture off on side trips to explore. Very interesting vegetation and for the most part well-marked with names of the various species. The waterfall... More

A beautiful park! The walk to the falls is the best part of the park. You can swim in the pool at the bottom once you arrive although it isn't a movie setting. The falls are pretty and the pool rustic. The walk is the real gem.

I would not recommend this place. We were not wowed at all by either the foliage or waterfall. It cost us like $48 for a family of four. You're better off going to Manoa falls for free !
