I was certified by Aaron's Dive Shop in fall of 2019 with the intent to come back and dive soon with my son who is a Marine stationed at MCBH, Keneohe. Because of COVID it took me a while to come back and I needed some coaching from Paul. He was great about it--patient and funny. It could have been an unsettling situation, but he made me feel comfortable. I had a wonderful experience thanks to Paul and Aaron's Dive Shop. I definitely recommend them!

My first two dives with Aarons were in 2019 and were awesome. I have done 6 more dives so far in 2021 with Aaron's including my Nitrox certification. I have an additional 4 more dives scheduled at the moment and plan on completing my AOW certification. I feel good and safe with the level of experience of the people on the boat and I appreciate that many of them have served in the marines and draw from their military dive training as well as PADI to help me improve my diving abilities. If trying to book a dive in the near future on shorter notice, check back frequently as I have booked more than half my dives after previously being told that they are all booked up for the week. There seems to be a lot of cancellations and no shows right now perhaps related to the coronavirus. If you have strong diving skills and prefer to dive with other experienced divers, I'd also suggest joining Aaron's dive club for the ability to sign up for club dives. If renting equipment, note that boots are not included and I'd recommend picking up the hommade looking dive socks and ultra thin booties they have at the shop that will help you slip on the wetsuit quicker (socks) and provide some protection of your feet against blisters from the fins and give you traction on the boat ladder/deck (booties). I thought that was a silly idea at first, but after talking with other divers using them I gave them a try and they are a nice compromise vs having full boots and don't take up a lot of space. Final thought: Please respect the coral, and show some appreciation to the staff by tipping well, you'll be glad you did!

Mahalo for your thorough review, Drew. We appreciate your continued support. Our dive club is a GREAT way to gain experience, make friends and try new dives at a great rate - plus pick club members brains for tips & tricks, like the dive socks you mentioned! Our dive club members also gets discounts off of our rental gear too! We look forward to continuing to be a part of your ohana in and out of the water. Mahalo!

Aaron's is good at managing group size vs staff size as well as making adjustments for weather conditions to keep things both fun AND safe. The ability to find and point out the critters is just a bonus.

Mahalo for your review! We keep our dive groups small for a more intimate experience. We are able to give our divers more attention and prioritize safety. As a bonus, typically the ocean critters are more interested in our small groups as well.

I signed up for their diving course. The online portion from PADI had glitches, but overall the instructors and staff tried their best to be helpful. Since being certified, the dives have been fun. But right now they use other diving boats so your departure point is almost always different.

Mahalo for your review. Our instructors and staff are great at what they do! We apologize for any inconvenience associated with varying departure points - it has been difficult with our boat out for repairs. We appreciate your patience and continued support.

I signed up for a wreck dive with Aaron's. Before I booked, I called to confirm which day to book so I could get the dive I wanted. Once I spoke to them, they let me know my first option was unavailable but I would be able to get my second option. Once I booked, they called to confirm where to go. The night before, I got an email saying to go to a different pick up location. Once I got on the boat, I was informed I would be going to the same locations I had done the day before. It was also $120 more than the previous day.
