The hike is tough so make sure you wear comfortable shoes and bring bottle water. We hike to the first point and stopped there since the second one is about another half mile. But the view from the first one is good enough.

If you want to do a quick little hike with great views, consider this one. It is steep at the beginning, so wear appropriate foot wear. We wore running shoes which worked fine. We saw tourists wearing sandals and slipping and sliding. The views are...More

I went with my 2 teenage sons and my husband. I made it to the first pillbox--the hike was very steep and rocky. I felt like I was rock climbing the entire time x for the few ridges that were fairly flat. I did not...More

The pillbox trail is located in a nice neighborhood in Lanikai. The hike was Short but steep. Some people brought their babies and young children on this hike but I would not recommend it not only because of the steep incline but because of the...More

This is not your ordinary hike! Tips: go early in the morning to avoid the intense sun and heat, wear sturdy shoes with good tread, take water to drink, and most importantly - take a camera! The climb up was narrow, steep, and a little...More

This is an unofficial, unmaintained "trail" as I & others mentioned. Treacherous when wet, unsuitable for casual "strollers" & folks who are not physically fit, safest with hiking footwear. As such, no fees, nor parking. I... More

Try to park at Lanikai beach - only about a 15 minute walk away. That way you'll be able to have a swim when you're done - which you'll appreciate I promise!
