My husband was excited to drive by Scholfield Barracks since he'd heard so much about it. The movie "From Here to Eternity" was made here. We got in line to get a day pass - which included a driver license and vehicle inspection. The museum is a beautiful building which was originally a library. Since my husband is an Army... More

Excellent military museum on the base near Schofield Barracks made famous during Pearl Harbor area bombing. The lady working at the museum was really helpful and the displays were outstanding. You will have to take time to provide documents and be checked out to get on the active military base but it was well worth it to see this history!

Great place to tour in conjunction with Pearl Harbor. The Japanese attached Schofield Barracks along with several other places on 12/07/1941. If you are a movie buff and have seen the movie "From Here to Eternity" many of the movie scenes were filmed here. The area is in a time capsule so it is easy to spot the places and... More

A bit off the beaten path but worth a visit. Thoughtfully curated and near a unique dining spot - the officers club that allows civilians too

Be aware that if you're non-military, you need to bring a bit of extra paperwork to be able to visit Schofield Barracks. In my case, I wasn't carrying my automobile insurance card. Big mistake. Because my personal auto insurance covers any damages when I rent a car, I waive the extra insurance offered by rental car companies. I also have... More

I'm partial to this museum because my son was stationed at Schofield with a couple of the young men on the fallen soldiers wall. This is a small museum, but worth the visit. It's well laid out and contains much history. There is also a cat on the front porch you can play with, but don't scratch him behind the... More

At the gate, we just needed to provide our licenses and the documents from our rental car. Once inside, the museum is straight ahead. The museum is free, although a donation is encouraged. The inside is dedicated to the 25th Infantry with stories, video, photos, and displays. It does not take very long to go through, but is worth the... More

Museum tracing the history and highlights of the 25th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. Free. To get onto the base, you need ID for each person, car registration and proof of insurance (rental paperwork covers this). Look ahead from the Macomb entry gate from Kamehameha Highway and you will see the artillery in front of the museum building (the... More

The rating is not actually for the museum as we could not get in!! Having read the website and downloaded the walk etc before leaving the UK we were under the impression that if you had photo ID and car documents - rental agreement you could gain access to the museum. We went to the gate specified and were shown... More
