Visit the other side of Acadia National Park and join us for a ferry ride aboard the Bar Harbor to Winter Harbor/ Schoodic Ferry departing from downtown Bar Harbor. You'll pass lighthouses, mountains, fishing villages mansions and lobstermen hauling their traps. Picnic by the ocean, or use the new bike trails from Winter Harbor around the Schoodic Point section. We are also bicycle and dog-friendly. The Free Island Explorer Bus meets the ferry and goes to Schoodic Point, Winter Harbor, Birch Harbor and Prospect Harbor.

Absolutely loved it. The crew was great, the ship was beautiful, and being able to help raise the sails was so much fun. A delightful way to see the Island from the sea, and to see the places we had visited in the park. Two...More

Offered as many as three times daily for convenience. Sunset cruise is phenomenal. Crew is friendly and informative. Passengers are invited to help hoist the sails. We had Dave (from Key West) for on-board entertainment. He enhanced the sea-faring experience. The views are spectacular.

Took the morning sail at 10 am. It was a perfect day to go. The weather was mid to high 70s in the morning. Once the sails went up, there was a nice breeze and it wasn't too hot. They asked for volunteers to help...More

I am glad I did it just so I have had the experience of a real boat. But, don't pre-book, weather is a big factor. We had a very foggy day. It is not a real ride, we took the 2pm run, which they said...More

We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon sail! The fog actually enhanced the experience as it was interesting to watch the fog banks drift over the islands. The narration was informative, particularly with the Acadia park ranger onboard.

Six of us did this and everyone loved it. Three of us even helped raise the sails. Great entertainment, too. I highly recommend this trip if you are in the Bar Harbor area.

We loved seeing the harbor and islands on the schooner. It was silent, except for the wind. Just perfect. We also had a beautiful sky. The crew was great, and we really appreciated the park ranger who talked just enough, but not constantly.

NO. This is just a cruise around Bar Harbor and Frenchman's Bay. I don't know if there is a ferry to Nova Scotia.
