On the main drive to Bar Harbor, I see all the signs for Acadia Natl Park. Turn in. See Visitors Center. Drive up and park. Walk over to entrance. Closed for season (and COVID?) Walk back and drive up entrance road into park. Closed and limited back/forth turnaround to get out of dead-end. So much for Acadia. Been there, saw nothing. Left. Enjoyed the afternoon in Bar Harbor commercial district.

We traveled to Bar Harbor, Maine (during Covid restrictions) and had a great time seeing Acadia National Park, the lighthouse in Bar Harbor and the natural sandbar bridge during low tide.

There are so many great things to do here that I almost cried when I left. Bubble Rock, Jordan Pond, Cadillac Mountain, and so much more, with great views and hikes, it has it all. Now stop reading this and start booking!!!

We visited last week and hoped to get some hiking in on some of the easier and shorter trails or at least get to drive up the drivable paths. Unfortunately, the walking paths are only open for snowshoeing as they are completely covered with ice and snow and even the paved roads to get to the walking paths are iced over and blocked with road closed signs. Your best bet would be to walk up the paved road and then through the trails as other cars parked at the road closed signs and did so. We, unprepared, were unable to get very far and decided to drive around to the closed visitors centers and see what we could see from car. Definitely do not recommend visiting in the winter.
