A gloomy time at Suncatcher

This place has lots of hanging mosaic and glittery things that delight people of all ages. But, the owner needs some of the sun to shine on him. He is a Grinch and I am amazed... read more

The gentleman working the store was extremely rude. When asking the price of an item, he told me that I might be able to afford this smaller one. It took me 4 times asking how much the one i wanted was to get an answer. He has no idea what i can or can't afford. He kept trying to sell me... More

I have been in Bar Harbor for 6 days and kept trying to get to this store because it looked so beautiful. I planned to buy multiple gifts for family back home. I was in the store for about 1 minute and got yelled at by the mean grumbly owner for taking my phone out to take a picture. I... More

Same thing happened to us. My husband was taking a picture of me in the store and the man behind the counter (the owner?) yelled at him, saying "no pictures" It's fine if he has a no picture policy but he was incredibly rude. I wouldn't buy anything from him because of that.

My family and I just returned from a ten day vacation in Bar Harbor. One of the shops we visited while in town was the Suncatcher, and I'm so glad we didn't skip over this store. First off I'd like to address former reviews about the owner and his attitude. When my well behaved son and I walked into his... More

This place has lots of hanging mosaic and glittery things that delight people of all ages. But, the owner needs some of the sun to shine on him. He is a Grinch and I am amazed that he is the owner and chooses to deal with the public. I did buy a really cute moon necklace and earrings but they... More

Very, very rude person that owns this store. I went in and tried to answer a text today while in there and he chased me out of there thinking I was about to take a picture while I had to intentions of it. He must keep the world's secrets in there since he is so paranoid. Honestly no wonder his... More

I stopped on the sidewalk to take a picture of the shop, which is crammed unbelievably full of sun catchers. The ornery old shop keeper hustled out the door to fuss at me for taking a picture IN PUBLIC. We looked around and spent exactly zero thanks to his attitude. I might otherwise have bought one for a sun catcher... More

I love this store and it's very pretty ! It makes you feel cheerful, when you walk inside and everything's so nicely displayed ! The artwork, is absolutely gorgeous and will continue coming back to Sun Catchers and buying things ! This is my favorite shop in town and the owner is very nice and very helpful !

Was surprised to see so many of the same experience we had at the SunCatcher shop - we really wanted to buy one, but when My husband asked about if they were made like stained glass, he said he wouldn't talk about it and we left the store. These are beautiful but really expensive - worth looking at but agree... More

Beautiful shop ruined by the miserable and incredibly rude shop employee. Older, heavy set, grouchy jerk that almost sours a trip to Bar Harbor... They should boot him out of town!! Stuff is obnoxiously overpriced. Not worth even going into!
