We took our adult kids here to relive one of their favorite trips from 15 years ago. They raved, and so did we!! This is a must see if you visit SF, and if you miss everything else, see Alcatraz. We took the night tour, reserving a month or so in advance, in the pouring rain. It waS definitely worth... More

We took the 3:50pm extended tour, which includes video and ranger talks. Most interesting. Wet weather only added to the dour gloom of its history.

1st the fun of the boat trip to the island & the wonderful view of San Francisco from afar. Then you walk up the hill, and the 1st thing you see are the grills where you hand over all your clothes, & those huge communal showers. You put on your headphones and suddenly you are transported back to the days... More

How long had I grown up hearing about Alcatraz! Movies about it, books about it, but I had never actually visited until last week. What a wonderful experience! Rich in history, the audio tour is really well done. You absolutely can feel the ghosts here! You also will not get a better view of San Francisco. We were fortunate to... More

Most visit Alcatraz Island if you are in San Francisco. You will learn about the history of the island plus you will get amazing views from San Francisco. They have an audio tour that I recommend! That island counts with handicap accessible cars to help anyone with a disability from point A to B. The boat leaves to the main... More

A must see, no gimmicks and they have the timings down to a science! Make sure you only buy your tickets from the approved seller at the pier if you want to go onto the island.

Great tour of Alcatraz. Went in Winter, so not too busy. But I believe it gets booked out at times. Informative and interactive audio tour. A must see for visitor to SF.

We spent an afternoon touring Alcatraz Island. The boat ride gave us great views of the San Francisco skyline and was a comfortable trip over to the island. Listen to the Park Ranger - it takes a few minutes but gives info on all the highlights of the island. The tour through the cell block via audio recordings really helped... More
