Designed to look like a Roman ruin, this golden building is certainly a beauty to behold.

Neat place to explore and take pictures. This would be a nice place for a picnic. We were probably only here for about 45 minutes total but worth it.

It's really beautiful at night. They illuminate it nicely. I would recommend timing it as you walk back from the Presidio to the city -- otherwise it is a little bit out of the way. I wouldn't recommend in the day time... dusk is best!

If you are in San Francisco, don’t miss to check out The Palace of Fine Arts. It’s one of the most instagramable places in San Fo! Imagine It was built in 1915 and it is still standing there! It has withstood the test of time.......More

Such an amazing place, even if the design is stolen from the Roman. Well situated in a nice and clean park. Just an amazing building. Recommended

Great place and great park. On top of that it is a famous place because of the movie with -Sean Conery - the Rock :)

Visit the Palace of Fine Arts late in the afternoon to catch the changing light of the evening and to watch the lights come on as the daylight fades away. This is a San Francisco park, but I have never seen a park policeman come...More

Nice architecture and gardens to walk around for a couple of minutes. It doesn't take long to visit this place. The Presidio area has several others sites of interest to visit close by.

Gorgeous to see! Stopped here on a bus tour. Would be beautiful at night. Awesome that they left the place stand with nothing inside.

Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.

no it is completely free to the public. The only problem you might have will be working around the public.

Greetings Ghie, I would go with late afternoon as the light would be fairly uniform with the sun being on the West, less interesting side, of the facility. The photographer should have an easier time getting wedding shots... More
