A Lovely Evening for A Wine Event In January, we were guests at a major wine event, at the Palace of Fine Arts, 3601 Lyon St, near the Persidio. We had used our regular driver, to get there from our hotel, in the Union Square Area, and had booked with him, for a pickup, when the event was over, as we were not sure what the taxi/ride-share situation would be. That worked fine. We arrived just a bit early, so had a moment to take in the beauty of the grounds, and the gorgeous architecture. The lighting was lovely, and even when we exited, well after dark, everything was beautiful, and took on an entirely different lool. At the appointed time, we entered, and explored the wine-tasting tables, scattered about a very spacious hall. After an hour, or so, we were called to dinner, which was atop a structure in the main hall, with a view of the exhibits down below. The meal, and the wines were very good, and all service was great. If there was a complaint it was with the PA system used. Due to the cavernous nature of the main hall, there was a bit of an echo, but not sure that the Palace of Fine Arts had provided the audio equipment? When the event was winding down, we walked out to the pre-arranged pick-up point, and our car was waiting for us - all so very, very easy, and in a lovely venue.

Expensive visit. Smash and grab vandals. Do not park there. Take an uber. Leave NOTHING of value in your vehicle if you choose to park at the Palace of Fine Arts

Wonderful architecture. Very pleasant walking in and around the statues and park. Nice hidden gem in San Francisco. Come in the morning at sunrise for the best photo opportunities.

This is a beautiful place to go for a walk. It is a magnificent building with artwork on the different pillars. There is a nice pond beside it as well.
