We stopped here on our way to the Golden Gate Bridge. It so peaceful and serene; such a contrast to the noises of the city. The architecture is beautiful and it is great to take a slower stroll around the lake area. Worth a visit!

Beautiful grounds & waterfront. Architecture is beautiful & the surrounding park is serene. Take some time to leisurely stroll around the area to take in the sights. There is a small concession area inside the adjacent building with restrooms and some games (cornhole, ping pong,...More

Really pretty place visited on way back from golden gate bay trail. You only need a max of 1 hour here.

A gorgeous park like relaxing setting. It’s sad to me that the beautiful architecture of the building isn’t used as an art gallery or museum. It’s very peaceful with people relaxing on the grass or strolling the walkways around the pools as opposed to jogging.

We did not go inside but did a lot of walking in the area. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. This is a place to go to unwind and relax.

Always wanted to see this in person after seeing it in various movies and TV shows. It is a beautiful spot to stroll, take photos and just take in the beauty.

A great place to visit. Fascinating architecture, layout, and views. A must see if you're in the presidio area, or, Golden Gate Bridge vicinity. Evidently it was built for the PAN-AM games in early 1900's? Nonetheless, it is a cool place to visit. Definitely causes...More

We took the night SF tour bus which stops right out side so you can get off and explore. It can get quite busy as there was so many tour buses doing the night tour, but worth a visit.

I was walking the waterfront in San Francisco and I came across the Palace of Fine Arts. Great scenery and it has a urban animal refuge and water area. I wouldn’t bring a vehicle there because it’s apparently a high crime area for vehicle break...More

A must-do visit. Very quiet and serene place. Beautiful scenery. Architecture is unique and out of this time.

Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.

I don't think so. We were there in the morning and since it is an outdoor venue, there are many places for photo shoots..

Greetings Ghie, I would go with late afternoon as the light would be fairly uniform with the sun being on the West, less interesting side, of the facility. The photographer should have an easier time getting wedding shots... More
