I had lived in the bay area for years and never went to the bridge or over it, decided to go on my last trip out and it is not just a bridge, it is awesome. We took the bus there, I think 28 or something, went to the cafe and the gift shop and walked to the first tower,... More

Truly drivable sculpture. The thing is really beautiful and wonderful to drive. Gorgeous scenery and greenery on both ends. Signature destination for any SF trip.

Definitely worth the visit while you are in San Francisco! You can take the bus from the city center and spend some time around the bridge! We had great weather while visiting, so we walked through the golden bridge until the other end! The park and information center are also nice to visit!

If you are going to wine country, make sure to pay for your re-entry toll before coming back over the bridge. This way you are not stuck with a fine!

We took the Hop On Hop Off bus across the bridge to Salsalito. The bus stopped on the Salsalito side were there is parking. It was a really nice place for pictures.

We walked from fishermans wharf which took a long time and was tiring but it was a beautiful day with lots to see along the way. Thoroughly recommend a trip to the bridge when in the Bay Area

If you are in SF, go to the Bridge whenever you can see it, the weather can change so quickly. We had the chance to see it on day one and we went then. After that it was hidden in cloud for 2 days

Best viewing area is from public park located above the bridge looking back towards the city. Numerous remains of military gun placements located here. Park for some reason not particularly well maintained. Chose your restroom stop elsewhere.
