For modern art enthusiasts, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) is well worth a visit. Current exhibits include Rene Magritte, Wayne Thiebaud paintings, and Donald Judd furniture. There is also an excellent cafe.

The Magritte exhibit was terrific, interesting and accessible to even the non-artsy type. The museum itself is a work of art. Don't miss the city view from the Steve Silver balcony
