Near the Fairmount Hotel and 'Top of the Mark' Grace cathedral has a similar external look to Notre Dame in Paris with its two towers and central spire. Outside the bronze and golden 'Gates of Paradise' doors are made from a cast taken from the...More

For years we have visited Grace Cathedral and found it beautiful and comforting. Our granddaughter was baptized here and we make sure to visit before Christmas. We feel his presence here.

Do not miss the Doors of Paradise, the beautiful stained glass, the labyrinth and the statue of St. Francis. Nice to just sit and take time to reflect. Well worth a visit. Small gift area in the basement along with restrooms.

city and is home to amazing architecture and views.
The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for
those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be
rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful
architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated
with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all
were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that
