Good museum to see when you're in Golden Gate Park. With admission, you can also visit the Legions of Honor museum (also in the park) which I enjoyed more. The De Young has more modern art. Definitely go to the observation floor for a great view of the city.

I always make a point of getting out to The De Young whenever in San Francisco. The permanent collection of exotic art from Africa and Asia is superb as well as American and European painting and sculpture. This time I lucked out and was around for the Bouquet to Art which happens for only one week each year. Floral designers,... More

The gorgeous and clever floral arrangements drawn from the painting behind added an elements of texture, color and scent! Just one week a year in March...don't miss it. A great addition to a wonderful museum.

We enjoyed spending a few hours at the de Young Museum visiting a special exhibit and seeing some of the permanent collection. I only regret we didn't have more time before the doors closed. Probably not so interesting for young families, but excellent for adults.

An excellent building that is discovered in different ways as you approach it. The facade is interesting, the way you enter the building mysterious and the inner courtyourd very relaxing to the eye. Don't forget to visit the observation deck on the 9th floor that offers unique views to the whole park, the adjacent buildings and the city!

Crowded with major exhibitions- but such glorious spaces that you won't mind.. No way to do this whole museum in a day so you need to plan ahead-especially if there is a major show-if thats the case , come early- lines to special shows can be formidable. Its also in the middle of the park- with other major museums to... More

Bouquets to Art was the primary reason I came to this fine museum. I wanted to soak up some floral inspiration from some of these avant-garde florists from the Bay Area. You see some of the exquisite floral displays in front of photos or framed artwork. But you are not done when you go upstairs and see more floral displays... More

The mid-March Bouquets to Art exhibition was absolutely worth traveling to see. It takes a minimum of three hours to look at the displays depicting the art and they are marvelous to see. No photographs are allowed before noon and the crowds are large, but the displays are amazing!

Went for the Bouquets to Art event and it was great. Artists recreate museum pieces in flowers and they are placed next to the originals. Absolutely marvelous!

I have attended some great events here. Great food, great music and a nice lively crowd. Okay as a museum as well, but marvelous for the weekend and sometimes mid-week events
