At the edge of the Pacific, beachcomb, build sand castles or bonfires, but don't swim. The tumultuous waters can be too rough to handle.

Not the nicest beach we have been too, quite a bit of rubbish scattered about, seemed dull and was dirty. We have been to much better & cleaner beaches. Shame really, but it was busy and other people were enjoying it thou!

This is the beach I would recommend to my friends, before Baker, Marshall or a few others. First of all, the beach is super big. You may run a little, swim, and do sports like frisbee on the beach. The beach is superb for sunbath...More

This is the beach just south of The Cliff House. There is a road running right on the beach which makes it easy to get to and also a nice drive. On the day we were there, there was plenty of parking, but it was...More

Great place to soend a sunny San Francisco day. Yes, they do exist. Ocean Beach offers miles of sand, nearby fine dining, spectacular views and relaxed, friendly people. Lots of folks bring their dogs. Parking is abundant and free!

Long, wide beach with soft sand. If you don’t want to get out of the car, you can see the beach and waves from the parking lot. Do get out and stroll the beach, watch the surfers and folks at play.

We headed down late evening after recommendation from family. It did not disappoint and a great place to watch the sunset. The beach was packed (Friday night) with people having BBQs and chilling out which meant for a very chilled vibe.

Beautiful beach. I've ever been in there over 10 times. I am always running cross Golden Gate Park to this beach.

I stopped here after visiting many of the attractions in Golden Gate Park. There was a Safeway a block away where I picked up a few snacks for lunch and then sat watching the waves while I ate. The beach was pretty busy, but there...More

Civic Center
Civic Center is the seat of power for all things
government and performance-related in the city.
Although its streets are best walked during daytime,
numerous cultural gems are within close proximity to
one another. The symphony, opera, ballet, and jazz
center offer year round entertainment within the
shadow of the city’s Beaux-Arts crown jewel: the gold
tipped dome of City Hall.

Yes. Ocean Beach in San Francisco is very popular with dog owners because dogs are allowed on the beach off-leash from stairwell 1 to stairwell 21. South of stairwell 21, dogs must remain on leashes.

Yes there is a free parking lot along side the beach and parking on the side streets. Can be a bit crowded on sunny weekends. As with all parking near tourist sights in San Francisco, it is best not to have luggage or... More

Yes you can! We were at one part of ocean beach where they didn't have bonfires but we went down a little bit more to another parking lot and they did have bonfires. And they are a blast!
