We came here to watch The 7 Fingers' Dear San Francisco show, and had a spectacular time! The club has hosted some big names over the past few decades (Thelonious Monk, Allen Ginsberg), and we could feel the club's history in the small, intimate space. Seating is a bit cramped, but the acrobats make the most of the tight spacing. The show was wondrous and enthralling; we were rived for the entire 90 minutes. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and they gave him a shoutout during the show, which he loved. They have a small menu with drinks and snacks, but this isn't the type of place you visit for a full meal. Very friendly staff as well.

Wonderful little venue with a great history. Among other things, the Grateful Dead launched their first album there and Beach Blanket Babylon played there for 45 years. Currently, there is a rotating acrobatic and magic show but we went there to see David Gans and he did not disappoint. Very intimate place, classy yet comfortable. Right in in the heart of North Beach.

Oh! How nice to see a review of some of the other evenings available here at Club Fugazi. Most of the reviews here focus on The 7 Fingers' production, Dear San Francisco, which has been running since September of 2021. But we have live music, a summer Drag Brunch, and literary events here as well. Same great venue, same fun experience. Thank you for calling attention to that for folks.

This show is unbelievably good! The athleticism of the performers is incredible. Everything is totally organized from the minute you enter the club. Seating is excellent for viewing....high swivel chairs as well as regular seats. Beverages can be ordered from your seat and servers are great. This was my second visit and I was blown away again. Do not hesitate to go !

Wow. This was a fantastic show. I have lived in San Francisco for 24 years, and absolutely loved the parts that were about San Francisco life and culture. They spun a great story about this city, while mixing it in with acrobatics (which is a word that really doesn't do it justice) and singing. Think about cirque du soleil performers, but without the costumes. It was a bit chaotic - I didn't know where to look because there were so many cool things happening - but I kinda liked that. It kept us on the edges of our seats, that's for sure. It's a small venue, so most seats have a great view, even those on the far left and right sides. The only seats that I'm unsure about are those behind the stage. They did get to see everything and the performers did turn around to address them many times, but most of the performance was geared toward the front of the stage. This is a show that we will likely see again, and would wholeheartedly recommend to all of our local friends & visitors. It's a show that kids would enjoy as well.

So great to read the energy of your experience carrying into your review! Thank you so much for taking the time-- and making the effort-- to describe it in this detail. So helpful to people wondering about the experience and to us in telling people about it.
One note on the stage seats: Next time you are in, I highly recommend it. Though it feels to you, out front, that the show is oriented mainly to the front, there are all sorts of moments that only are visible to the people on the stage, and all sorts of exchanges that happen between the audience and the acrobats that don't out front. SO, it's a bit of an illusion that keeps everyone feeling like the show was made just for them...

Did not know what to expect. Was told it was a show I must see and so I went. Boy was I surprised. It is at the old Beach Blanket Babylon theater with a little remodeling. You walk in, register booth on the right and the unisex bathroom on the left. Inside seating are comfortable swivel seats. Depending on your tier, you can have lower swivel or a high swivel. Some have long skinny/tiny tables in front of them and some do not. I ended up getting seats that did not have a table. Made it very uncomfortable to have to swivel around to place my drinks and food on the table behind me where it's next to a couple's drink/purse/menus/etc. (awkward and made me uneasy about items that I was ingesting) and miss parts of the show (the company should change that situation).
Joey served my drinks and food and he was amazing. Very friendly and great customer service. High five to Joey!!
As for the show, some people got postcards to write and some did not (I did not). They read three of them during the show. A postcard from Hunter Pence was read (did that mean he was there??!). The whole theme was kept in the BAY, especially SF. The show was very intimate and interactive with the audience (made it fun). The acts were incredible and different. Great story line about a couple in the act (must see for yourself). All the performers really look like they LOVE what they do which makes the show even better.
I have nothing but great things to say. The only issue was what seemed like an 8 inch table that I had to swivel around to place my items, look at another couple every time I do, eat awkwardly (had a knife and fork dish and that was hard to eat on my lap), and missing part of the shows.

Thank you for taking the time to write-- and for your enthusiastic reporting on your experience!
A couple of notes for your next visit, or others making plans.
Re: the postcards
Everyone who would like to write a postcard is encouraged to do so and the postcards are passed around liberally. We also remind people from the stage five minutes before the show that they have time to write one. I'm sorry you missed that invitation. 😕 Only three of them are read on any given night.
Re: the seating
There are seats on both sides of the first three counters on the orchestra level, yes. You can see that indicated on the seat map when you are purchasing. This facilitates groups of four or more at the show being able to socialize during their visit, rather than everyone being seated shoulder to shoulder in a long line. It's a very social atmosphere, but we can understand that some folks may prefer less interaction with others at the show. The final three counters, and all the mezzanine seats, are "one-sided" to support that. So, look at the seat map as you are making your purchase-- and if you have ANY questions, just give us a call. We're happy to make sure you wind up with a seat you are comfortable with.
Re; Joey
Yes. He's simply the best.
Re: The performers
They do, in fact, love what they are doing. Thank you for pointing that out. The whole experience is designed to spark joy and function as a love letter, and we're delighted that you were able to enter that spirit even with the challenge you had with your choice of seat.
So helpful when people leave detailed reviews like yours. Especially when they have such generous things to say about the experience.

Exciting and fun with amazingly talented performers who clearly love what they do! Recommend arriving a half hour before the show begins to soak up the atmosphere of the beautiful and historic Club Fugazi. Drinks and snacks are served before and throughout the performance, but it's not distracting.

I've seen the show "Dear San Francisco" by the 7 Fingers acrobats twice now, and I plan on bringing my daughter for a third time so she can experience it too! This show captures so many emotions about San Francisco and it's done in a very entertaining and thoughtful way. The acrobats clearly LOVE what they are doing and that resonates with the crowd. You are drawn into their world and find yourself on the edge of your seat, cheering them on. Great venue as well--not a bad seat in the house. Don't miss this show!!

Thank you so much for writing and sharing your enthusiastic support of the show. One of the defining aspects of the overall experience is that we ALL love what we are doing-- the cast, the crew, and the staff. And that seems to permeate and create an experience of total joy for everyone in the room. Glad you felt it and took the time to say so!

Fantastic show - highly recommend. Had stage seats and impressed show ensured both those on and off stage received an excellent view of the show. Visiting from Toronto and found about about this from "Total SF" podcast and glad we caught it. Billed as a "love letter to SF" and I think this is true. While most is acrobatic there is good variety such as film, singing, story-telling, audience participation etc. As tourists, we were impressed by the huge number of locals in the audience and like the fact people really seemed to celebrate their city. If you ever want to see a acrobat representation of the 1906 SF earthquakes and fire, then this show will do that. "Tech bro" was another audience favourite.

Thank you for writing! Dear San Francisco also just received a glowing review from the Toronto Sun's travel reporter, so hopefully more of your Ontario neighbors will be dropping in while they're in the city. We very much appreciate the support.

We went to the December 28th Dear San Francisco show and it was amazing. I had low expectations when we got these tickets. My in-laws raved about it and even went twice in the same week, so my husband mentioned it might be worthwhile to check out, while in we were in San Francisco. We made our way to the theater and ate beforehand. Club Fugazi is located between North Beach and Chinatown so it was a short walk from our hotel. We didn't know what to expect when we sat in the theater. A server came by asking if we wanted anything and we said we'd look at the menu. There is no requirement to purchase but we did get some tea and a bottle of water. Dear San Francisco is an intimate Cirque type of show. The theater is small so you can see the performers up close. The stunts range from acrobatics to hula hoops and juggling. It was a love letter to San Francisco and definitely a fun experience.

“Dear San Francisco” was the highlight of my recent trip to SF. We booked two of the last seats at the back of the stage and it was a fantastic experience. The music, poetry, theatre, storytelling, acrobatics and athleticism were beyond impressive! It was emotional, raw and captivating. A local recommended we check this out and I am so glad we did; I would highly recommend it!

Right now there are generally seats available at all performances. But the most common times with the most seats are Thursdays and Sunday’s at 6p.

Any seats in the front cabaret or center balcony are good. If you don't have a reserved seat (tables at the foot of the stage and front rows in front cabaret) get there early so your party can be guaranteed to sit together. Plan on getting there at least 45 minutes before the doors open. There will be a line outside.

Good restaurant before the Tuesday night show close to Beach Blanket Babylon.

North Beach is rich with options. Most notably are the Italian and Seafood options. You can't go wrong at Sotto Mare. Regardless of your tastes you will find something terrific. It's on Green Street so you won't even be able to walk off an appetizer. If you don't have reserved seating Beach Blanket be sure to get there early for best seating options. Don't be shy about offering a tip for better seating, It always helps. Have fun

Hi I've been to BBB once maybe 20 years ago. Want to take a couple of friends this month or next - what's the easiest way to get there. I could drive or take BART - wanted convenience and cheap :) is this possible? not sure we would know what to do if we took the cable car from BART - is that cash only? Do they announce stops? can we walk from BART?
