You will know you are in Little Italy because all of the light poles will have a little Italian flag painted on them. Lots of good eats to be found all over this district. Come hungry, get your fill, and see the sights. A MUST...More

You can't go wrong with long lines out the door of pizza by the slice establishments and tons of Italian restaurants. Sotto Mare was our pick and worth the 1.5 hour wait!

This is an historic neighborhood and has gone through some big changes. Remnants of the Italian past are still there, but you have to look closely. Lots of tourist restaurants, most not very good.

I’ve been always a fan if Italy, particularly the Italian food. Close to China Town the shops and the offers are identical to those in Italy, what an unique feeling.

You can't go wrong walking in Little Italy. There are so many places to stop for a bite or drink. It leads down to the water and the telephone poles are clearly marked with the flag. Beach Blanket Babylon is also in this area. It...More

Mostly a collection of all things Italian food...restaurants, cafes, delis, food stores. There’s few things outside food that’s Italian. There’s a church and park as well. Nice atmosphere. A genuine ethnic neighborhood.

This was an old time Italian ristorante. We just ordered pizza for lunch. The staff was pleasant. We sat outside since weather permitted and watch people go by.

We walked (and walked) SF this day and wound up in LI for pizza, dessert and espresso. We loved the little flags on the street lights and explained to our son the impact or impetus for places like Chinatown and Little Italy. We sampled three...More

Great tour. Learned a lot and tasted good food. The tour guide was great. The samples of food we generous. People were nice. Not for children and people who would have a hard time walking.

The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.

I was talking about the neighborhood of little Italy, so it doesn't really have an "opening " time. I'm sure there are many restaurants that serve breakfast therefore probably fairly early.

Every restaurant in SF is BYOB but there is a corkage fee between $15.00 to $30.00. Check with the restaurant online through their website. If you want authentic Italian in North Beach try North Beach Restaurant. There... More
