Adjacent to Chinatown, SF's Little Italy is a vibrant community with numerous great eateries, gelateria's, markets and shops chock full of fantastic and authenic Italiano cuisine. Pick a restaurant for lunch or dinner, you can't go wrong...great coffee shoppes too!

We left Chinatown and walked right into little Italy. I could have told you we were in a different area immediately because the smells were so different. The Italian restaurants lined the streets, but we weren't ready to eat. Not much else to do there....More

The traditional old Italian neighborhood is actually called "North Beach." There are some old fashioned Italian restaurants, bars and cafes. But most of the Italian residents are long gone, replaced by yuppies and Chinese. This neighborhood changed a long time ago.
